Sirius hates on the Cowboys

You also have to understand that anything Parcells does is genius to them. Literally, if we still had the rights to Quincy, and Parcells traded a 3rd to us for those rights, I think they would talk themselves and the listeners into thinking it was a great deal by the Tuna.

Also, they LOVE Akin. He is a regular guest on their show. In fact, I think they're having him on tommorrow and he called today and asked that for his intro, they play "Welcome to Miami" by Will Smith. <--- this isn't a joke

I could also see Canty leaving after this season for the same reason.
You were doing fine until then. We need to keep Canty.

That guy just looks so smart.
I guess Sparano and BP can "coach him up" now. I hadn't heard anything about that either until now. Talk about an unflatering pic.

While listening to the Draft Saturday on Sirius NFL Radio....One guy calling the pics kept referring to the Jaguars as America's Team. I was ready to hear a thump over the radio but none of the other announcers had anything to say about it.

Thats Adam Shien (spelling?). He has been doing that for about 2 yrs now. He said he was personally trying to get the fan base going in Jacksonville. It's not really a dig to Dallas.

I forgot that guys name but he does that as a dig on Jacksonville. Someone did a survey and the Jaguars were rated as the team having the least fans. After that he started calling them America's team.

On the surface it does look like a stupid trade on our part. However, Papa and Cross just don't understand that Akin and Fasano simply didn't have a place on our team and/or didn't fit our system. Akin has been a fairly solid LB, but he is poor in pass coverage and is not a playmaker. Zack Thomas is much more active and much better in coverage, not to mention a smarter LB. Akin was also holding back Carpenter and Burnett, both of which are much more athletic and younger. Fasano was simply a Parcells draft. Parcells uses TEs in a much different way than Garrett. In Garrett's offense, the TE is an integral part of the passing attack rather than just a blocker. From everything I've read about Bennett, he's very athletic and much more of a receiving threat than Fasano. My $.02 worth.

What they implied was that trade was terrible and an indication of how the Cowboys are going to be run. They basically said Jerry is back in control and is going to destroy the team so it is all downhill from now. That is why they said we better win this year.

Jerry was "in control" last season, when we signed two free agents who made the Pro Bowl in their first season with us, drafted one player who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie and made a trade that gave us an extra first-round pick this season.

Here's a little nugget -- out of all of the veteran free agents we signed during Bill Parcells' tenure with us, only one of them ever made the Pro Bowl for us. And that was Terrell Owens, who Jerry "forced" on Parcells.

Papa isn't bad, but he's a self-proclaimed Cowboy hater. He says as much on-air.

I won't revisit the Jacksonville/America's team issue, but I will say that Schein is great.

Once again, an idiotic statement slapped down by Adam. hard.

Akin Ayodele was the most unproductive starter on either side of the ball last year....don't get all the love for him. I am a little more concerned about dealing Fasano, but if Bennett is as good as his press clippings than we need not worry much, besides Curtis will be a far better recieving threat anyhow.

Talking about the trade for Miami's 4th.

In the end they said Cowboy fans should hope they win this year because they are done after that.

Yeah, well I heard Rob Dibble, on fox gametime react yesterday talking about the Seahawks say the cowboys are really going to miss Julius Jones. Now that's funny.

:laugh2: :laugh1: :lmao2: :lmao:

I'm sure we'll miss the guy that could get tackled by the grass or turf he runs on. The jokes on him.

Things are looking great for the Boys when guys that can't make our team become starters for other teams.

Bob Papa and Randy Cross.

I will give more details when I get back.

That's the problem....Cross has ALWAYS been a Cowboys hater. They can go 19-0, win the SB. Win every game by 30 points. And he will find something negative even if it sounds stupid.

I actually like Bob Papa. He's not bad on Sirius. But a few things to understand here is that Fasano is a jersey guy going to play in Miami, a team run by another Jersey guy. Of course Papa is going to rip that trade from the Cowboys perspective. Also, Akin Ayodele has a segment during the season on Papa and Cross' Sirius morning drive.

So I don't think he's giving an unbiased opinion here.

well that would add to it. And this pic I took of them before the playoff game maybe speaks to that too.

I heard what you guys are talking about this morning. First of all, I didn't hear them say anything about Dallas "being done" if they don't win this year. I don't believe that is true they said that.

What I did hear them say is they can't believe the Cowboys traded these two for only a 4th round pick. Akin has a weekly spot on Sirius and one of the non-air guys there is a Cowboys fan who really like Akin.

Most of us agree Akin did little to nothing in his time here. He was average at best. Hard to think of a couple big plays from him.

I do agree the Cowboys got less in this deal though. The two of them are worth more than a 4th rounder. But I also don't think Fasano was versatile or dynamic enough for what Garrett wants his TEs to do in his offense. Fasano, while a good all around TE, doesn't really create any mismatches like Bennett should (and Witten obviously does). Bennett has great size and basketball skills to go up and get the ball in the redzone.
