good pick up for the skins. duckett is insurance for portis getting injured again during the season and betts being always injured because some body farrted on the other side of the field and he caught the breeze :0). but how much are they giving up. best case scenario they are giving up a 3rd and a 4th which leaves them with no 2nd, 3rd or 4th round picks next year. wors case scenario if Denver ends up with a better record than the skins they give up a 1st and a 3rd for ducket!!! giving up a 1st and a 3rd for a back up RB in the last year of his contract.

that would leave them without a 1st, 2nd or 3rd round pick next year.

geez, they don't value draft picks at all and with their draft record I am not surprised.

I've never heard a 1st and a 3rd. Where did you get that info from? I've only ever read that it was a 3rd only or possibly a 4th only based on how the Skins do this year.

John Clayton reported that the Broncos wanted the equivalent of a high third rounder, and some said that there are some different scenarios that range from just swapping first rounders in 2007 to the 2007 3rd plus the 2008 4th.

The Skins don't figure to have a high third rounder, so that is why the other scenarios were included.

Anyone know a good Broncos site? I have a feeling they are the happiest fans in the NFL right now. I'd like to see that kind of unadulterated joy.

Imagine if someone had given us potentially a 3rd and a 4th round pick for Troy Hambrick. I'd have probably been thrown in jail for public celebration run amok.

Oh wait, Hambrick was undrafted while Duckett was a 1st rounder.

Okay, imagine the same trade with someone giving us that for Blair Thomas after he played here briefly.

The 'skins gave up ALOT for a one-year rent a backup. I wish the Eagles would have gotten ahold of one of these guys, but not for the price the Skins gave up. It usually takes free agents a year just to get used to a new system, Duckett's contract will be up when that happens.

That said, I think he fits Gibb's system better than Atlanta's. He's a good fit for the long haul... if he was there for the long haul.

Atlanta got a pretty good deal, and Denver got a killer deal.
