Commanders trying to trade for Jammal Brown

6/19/2010 2:37:45 PM

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Washington is trying to finalize a trade for Saints OT Jammal Brown. The trade is not believed to involve disgruntled DT Albert Haynesworth.

Possible compensation from rumors says it could be Haynesworth.

But yeah I'm reading confirmed reports that they've traded for Jammal Brown.

Brown or Gaither was who I wanted for Dallas. I hope Free or Barron pan out.

btw, I can't help but laugh that the skins keep making moves to continually put off the time when they need to rebuild.

This sucks. I was just about to start a thread about how miserable it must be to be a Redsucks fan right. And how snake bit is that franchise has been.

Now it looks like they may have killed two birds with one stone here.

Although I do believe they have to eat the 21 mil they just gave Haynesworth. To bad there's no cap this year. It would have made the trade very difficult.

Schefter is implying that it's a conditional draft pick.

This trade makes you wonder whether the Commanders saw Trent Williams in minicamp and were scared to leave him on the left side against DeMarcus Ware. I doubt he'll fare any better against Anthony Spencer on the right side, and we've all seen Ware abuse Brown in the past.

I heard it was for a conditional draft pick, not Haynesworth.

The Skins need all the help they can get on the OL. McNabb's mobility isn't what it was. And their RBs suck.

Ugh, my friend is a Saints fan and has been talking all this crap about getting Haynesworht for Jamaal Brown which I said was impossible. I'd be pissed if they ended up pulling it off.

Trent Williams isn't really a great LT prospect. He was at his best as a Junior RT.

Or I'm talking about someone totally different.

I hope it was. I really don't want them to part with that paticular cancerous tumor. He's such a perfect fit in DC.:laugh2:

But they are going to have to pay him LT #4 money to play on the right side if this rumor is true.

That would be a win win for those two franchises. Fairly certain the Saints would only be on the hook for his base salaries and bonuses going forward. The total $ amount for the remaining 5 or so years on his deal is probably pretty fair. Especially considering how talented the guy really is.

All they need to do is get him to behave. Tall order, but how much risk do they really have in this trade? They probably can cut him at any time prior to the start of the season with no financial commitment.
After week one they're only on the hook for his 2010 base salary. Sure the conditional pick or picks is contingent on him actually remaining on the team.
