Trent Williams will probably play RT now but he only played Tackle for one year in college. He will get eaten up at RT as well. Spencer will have a monster game against him on opening day.

Mansta54;3438145 said:The reports here in the DC area was that he only played LT one year in college but he was a ALL AMERICAN at guard. That's what I heard, I don't follow college football that close so I really don't know...
Washington Post said:Perhaps the more likely scenario is to keep Williams at left tackle, protecting Donovan McNabb's blind side, and start Brown at right tackle, a position he played his rookie season in New Orleans.

Jed_70;3438134 said:That certainly is a good deal for the Commanders. They get a Pro Bowl caliber LT for a a couple of mid to late round picks.Yeah Brown is coming off a year where he sat due to an injury, but that injury isn't one that is considered a career changer/ender.
The concern was evident as Payton, General Manager Mickey Loomis and owner Tom Benson gathered around the fallen Pro Bowler while trainers treated him.
Brown has endured knee problems in both legs for much of his playing career, dating to his days as an All-American lineman at Oklahoma. A sprained knee injury forced him to take a medical redshirt season as a freshman in 2000.
Because of his knee history, several teams had Brown listed as a medical red flag during their evaluations of him in the 2004 NFL Draft.
Brown has had minor problems with both knees as a pro, Payton said. The 2004
Outland Trophy winner wears knee braces on both knees during practice and games. He was voted to the Pro Bowl last season but skipped the game in order to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery. Brown said last week he was still experiencing slight pain in the knee.
"It's a little sore but I've just got to fight through it," Brown said last Thursday as he limped slightly from the interview tent.

Trent Williams played tackle only at Oklahoma.
Brown played RT as a rookie and LT since then.
The reports in DC are ACTUALLY saying (not what Mansta wants them to say) that Williams will stay at LT and Brown will move to RT

To think, we go from having Stephon sorry *** Heyer and "fill in the blanks" at tackle, Will Montgomery/Edwin Williams at guard, Jason Campbell at QB and Jim freakin Zorn as HC, to Williams and Brown at tackles, Hicks at guard, McNabb at QB, and Shanahan as head coach

i wouldn't call it worrying, but it is an upgrade that does make their team better. they now have a top 5-10 talent tackle draft pick along with a proven tackle, its a good move, but that team is far from matching up well with us but it is a step in the right directiondbair1967;3438563 said:LOL at people actually worrying about this move. The long rumored degenerative knees might be, though.

Sean Payton believes Bushrod is better than Jamal Brown. That pretty much says it all to me.
