The restructure/extensions of Sellers and Thomas this morning added another 4 million. No one outside of the FO knows their current cap #, but my guess is that they still have about 7 million to play with....and counting.

He'll be 32. And he's a good football player. Thing is, he's at the age where guys start to decline. It's not a huge contract, but IMO it's not a good signing in that one of the league's oldest teams just got a little older.Mansta54;1401167 said:Why is this so great? He's a 33yr. old MLB on a team with a absolutely horrible Dline. Their Dline is old, slow, and always hurt. What good is a 33yr. old Fletcher gonna do? They were 5-11 with one of the WORST D's in the league...

Great news....for us! Also signed Smoot, right? Even better news! Keep eating up your cap space Danny Boy! Davis headed to you, any cap space left Danny?LatinMind;1400902 said:POSTED 8:42 p.m. EST, March 2, 2007
FLETCHER IS A 'SKIN
A league source tells us that linebacker London Fletcher has agreed to terms with the Washington Commanders.
Per the source, it's a five-year, $25 million deal. It pays a $10.5 million signing bonus and pays out $12.5 million over the first two years.
Washington was Fletcher's first and only visit. Other teams that were interested in the nine-year veteran were the Bills, Lions, and Patriots.
Mansta54;1401186 said:32 or 33yrs, not much difference.. If he were going to a good defense that just needed a few holes filled, then ok, but their D is awful and old.... He won't help them at all.. I just don't see it!!!!

That 12.5 million in the first 2 years includes all of the bonus, as in he will receive the bonus plus his first two years. And of course that 10.5 gets prorated over 5 years. So that number is not about the cap but rather Fletcher's bank account.summerisfunner;1400927 said:if I'm doing the math correctly, half of the money he's going to see his 1st 2 years would average to about 6.3 mil that he's owed in '07, that's a good chunk of their available cap space, I don't see them doing much else
