I always appreciated Skip for what he was: part showman, die hard sports critic. He overplayed his hand with Shannon Sharpe and he paid the price.

Network sports shows will all die. People are jumping to their own podcasts which is smart. Skip has one and will be there I'm sure and strange thing is a ton of people will watch. No idea why.
You could be right .........remember Parsons initially signed to join Skip his rookie year but backed out. Now he has his own podcast.....

Hate to see such a loyal Cowboys fan go. This guy is.......really full of crap. Good riddance.

+1 +1

Skip Bayless is really the pioneer of the sports talk show host strategy of deliberately saying stupid things so people will talk about how stupid you are.... because with everyone talking about how stupid you are, they then tune in to hear the next stupid thing you say.

Bayless proved sportstalk is an industry where it is far, far better to have people talk about how stupid you are than not talk about you at all.
They ain’t tuning in anymore.

Relevant to the Cowboys as he’s probably responsible for 50% of the Cowboys tv airtime/discussions. I imagine Jerry is unsettled by this news.

The show probably isn't doing that good and was given a choice to quit or be cancelled..............

I think they've him save face by quitting but the numbers were super low for his shows. Under 30000 viewers low.

I can tolerate Cowherd, listen to Nick Wright and listen to the guys on Speak. There is nobody at ESPN I can listen to because of the clear hate for the Cowboys, and it's not because I am a fan it's because of the uninformed hate/negativity. Greenberg, SAS is annoying, Tannenbaum is a laugh because his title of the worst GM in the history of worst GMs in the NFL plays out on the show. Bart Simpson is well, you know. Clark, and the others are just intolerable. I don't think there is one show I can listen to that isn't bias towards one or two teams. That is not journalism.....
That's where the confusion lies, these are opinion shows not news shows. They are not reporting the news, they are paid to give their opinion and take on the news and some times it's not even their own thoughts, but ones curated by a staff to elicit responses and clicks. Some are more tolerable than others, some try and mix in more facts and breakdowns and some are all about hot takes in hopes of going viral. They are not journalists, they are entertainers.

This is one of those rare occasions when I wished there was an actual multiverse, which an individual being discuss could exit ours for.

Hopefully little Stevie is next

:hammer::clap:

I don't believe Skip is a true Cowboy fan. I think he just acts like it because it brings clicks/views as we have the largest audience.
He whines about everything. He really has no clue about his so-called team's players. Saying Biadaz is a huge loss and bashed our draft of o-lineman again. Bashes everyone we draft and is proven wrong everytime.

Havent watched any of those morning sports shows in years.
Same

I remember some of the first times ESPN put SAS opposite of Skip, and realized it could be ratings gold.

Back then, the show was still called Cold Pizza, and Skip's segment was called 1st and 10. But eventually they got rid of everything except for 1st and 10 and it became First Take.

Back then, Skip v SAS was fun for me. At that time Skip was anti-Cowboys, and SAS was the first guy to command more attention during their debates. But it got played out real quick and I stopped watching before that's all it became.

Cold pizza with skip and woody Paige was fun, then it devolved into yelling lol. Back when around the horn was good until Jay Mariotti decided to beat up on his wife

It's still a decent show. But Around the Horn isn't as good as it was between 2005-2009.
