Skip is a ratings hoe, so that is just a stunt for publicity but he does make a decent point. For whatever reasons, Zeke is not the explosive RB he was earlier in his career. I mean, 14 runs of over 20 yards as a rookie and only 1 run over 20 yards this year, so the question is why. Well, there are several possibilities.
1. Zeke missed camp and is totally out of shape, specifically his weight is too high and extra weight does indeed make you slower.
2. Zeke is playing hurt, as others mentioned, he has been seen limping to the sidelines in games and requesting to come out quite a lot.
3. The offensive line and the play calling are not allowing him clean holes to the second level, he is being hit too much in the backfield.
4. I hate to even mention it, but he got paid and is more worried about not getting hurt than making plays. That is why he goes down at first contact.
So which one is it? Or is it a combination of several of them? I dont know, but right now he is not the back he was earlier in his career.
