I also know what Pete said to be true about defenders not know how to handle the two. Barry Church said this on his show. How it's stressful tackling a power back like Zeke, then having to change up and tackle a slasher. Said he much rather tackling the slasher

Of course. I think anyone who has ever played football understands the importance of Zekes roll on this team. I remember when I was playing I always played defensive end and in practices when the coach would put our smaller faster players back there you never minded a run coming to your side, opposed to when the kid who just wanted to smash his helmet right into your face mask that outweighed most of the team was coming at you.

Zeke is not fun to tackle. I can promise every single person here that...especially to the Linebackers and DBs. Pollard is the perfect compliment to him.

I do think that Zeke pounding defenders can help soften things up for Pollard. However, Zeke’s lack of burst has really put a hurting on his ability to exploit a defense and has lessened his value to the team. He’s a good player but he is not worth what he once was to the Cowboys.

Again, it’s the split that people question. That’s Pollard’s max…great, but he’s been playing well below his max while every year Zeke has limped to the line.

Pollard told you himself in that article "Coach I'm done.. I got nothin left.. " That was after 30 snaps.. THIRTY.. The offense is generally on the field for between 60 and 70 snaps.. Who's going to man the backfield those other 30-40 snaps? Can you imagine how Pollard would have felt after another 10-12 carries? And there will be games where the lead back will be asked to do just that.. as well as blitz pickup another 10-12 times. The Zeke hate is simply not rational. If his body is letting him down from carrying the load then so be it.. Cowboys fans should thank him.. not cheer for him to be ushered out the exit before the plane even gets to the gate.

Zeke is not fun to tackle. Pollard is not easy to tackle.

No good running back is easy to tackle.. I still say somebody is fulla crap on the broken tackle tallies though.. There was a game here recently that I counted 7 for Zeke and they put him down for one on the score sheet. I really need somebody to splain to me what constitutes a broken tackle if running a guy over at the line of scrimmage and continuing forward for another 10-12 yards doesn't.

I agree. The contract was too generous though and it happened because of the Todd Gurley contract prior. Then CMC got his after Zeke's. We need to understand as an organization, the days of the # 22's don't go on for more than 5 to 6 years at the position anymore.

By the time Pollard sprung the 54-yard touchdown run to help end the Bears, his gas light was on.

"[Pollard] played a total of 30 plays, and I think that's his max - as far as total play count - because then the juice doesn't become the same and he's not as quick, not as fast," said Peete. "When he got that long run on third-and-1, soon as he got to the sideline he said, 'Coach, I'm done. Done for the game. I've got no more.'

"Tony's obviously a very talented runner and good all-around back, but some guys are race cars. Some guys are high-quality, expensive sedans and those sedans can go for a long distance at a very high rate, whereas race cars go very fast and quick and run out of gas."

Pretty weak of Pollard.

Yeah when the Cowboys took Zeke #4 overall they should have committed to the style of play that maximized HIS skillset. When they decided to shift into maximizing Dak's skillset, even before it had fully developed, they should have traded Zeke the next day.. as THIS reporter stated 4 years ago.. They never should have paid Zeke top money if they were just going to hand him the rock 15 times a game. They drafted him to be dominant.. Hard to be dominant on 15 totes a game especially if half of them are the damn delay draw up the gut. He aint built for that. He's built to attack the line of scrimmage downhill. When they stopped doing that on 80+% of his carries, he stopped being worth the money.. That's the simple fact of the matter.. I will never be mad at Zeke for getting his money.. but I can be mad at the Cowboys for not allowing him to earn it.

Skip Peete said:
"[Halfbacks like Pollard] are always going to have a bigger average, and make more explosive plays but, at the end of the day, when you get into certain games, the race car can't handle that punishment because they get worn down. I think you need both [types]," said Peete.

And certain someones laughed because we said Pollard can't handle being the full-time starter because he would get worn down.

Peete was being brutally honest.

Sledgehammer and sword, huh? Me likey.

Max out Pollard is all Imma say about it. Play Zeke his customary plays, and get RB3 some carries if it's not too much.
