Dunno know about the comparison to Smith but like some I have no problems with the actual comparisons to NFL players; scouts and coaches do it all of the time.

Dante Hall was a 5th rd choice and Steve Smith was a 3rd round choice.

BY that draft position Green is not a poor man's anything to them.

He was drafted in the same area - that is the only connection - it would not be a poor mans scenario.

It would be a player developement issue. Steve Smith developed into an outstanding WR and Dante Hall just continued to be a great returner and not that much of a WR.

I will settle for the great returner and hopefully get a little extra by some gadget or WR screens from him and be happy about it.

Steve Smith slipped to the 3rd round because of his size. Green was a mild reach in the 4th round not just because of his size but because he hasn't shown much as a WR in college. If he wasn't a KR he would not have been drafted. Steve Smith is one of the top 5 players in the game. To even project Green as a starting WR is a stretch of the imagination.

But just because putting Green and Smith in the same sentence is ridiculous, if Ireland wants to compare Green to Donte Hall I'm impressed with that. No need to go crazy here.
