Well we were the ones that took Smith. And Gregory. And Joseph. All risks. All 2nd round.

Decent enough odds we do something stupid again in Rd 2 this year.
They also could hit a homerun in round 2 this year with a pick like Brooks, Benson, Payton Smith, Frazier, Tampa,Legette, or Sweat.

There are a lot of healthier options that seem to be in the same tier…would be totally on brand for us to select the crippled one

The crazy part is you know it’s a very real possibility. Can they truly be that stupid? Definitely!
We continue to look for value in the second round with players that have fallen due to injury or off the field issues and it never works out for us. You would think the jughead Joneses would learn their lesson.

The qualifier for a Dallas second round pick….

‘Would have been a first rounder if not for ______’

Then the blank part ends up being the problem.

Or if you’re a TE. Literally THREE times they took a TE when they had a future HOFer as the starter.

That was a Parcells thing and they figure they learned something from him. Parcells’ strength was getting the most out of everyone he had. His drafts (other than 2005) were pretty terrible.

It’s a terrible strategy. Just stick to BPA. One who isn’t injured or a headcase.

I understand trying to get value with a player that has a first round grade if it weren’t for injury, drugs or off the field trouble but it never works out for us. We need to take the same approach we have in the first round.

How about Parsons, Diggs, and Lamb?
lol, no one looked at them as risks or bargains. they werent injured or off field problems.
Diggs Not sure if he was highly touted or not, the other 2 were.

After trying it over and over, you have to move on. Might work for some teams, but not this one. The roster should be in better shape right now if they don't gamble with those high draft picks. There's too many holes to do that.
