Smh at Marty B making it to the Super Bowl before Witten

And our GM, but that's not happening any day soon :(

Definitely need an upgraded GM, but even if Jerry hired a GM, he'd have to be a Jerry guy, would probably be a GM in name only...I am beginning to think JG is a coach in name only...he was their during the Jimmy Johnston years, seems to want to build the team similar to how it was under Johnston, powerful offensive line, great RB, still using an FB...and on and on, but allows our OC to totally miss use Elliot in the biggest game of the year. Elliot should be on the field for every 3rd down and should get the ball on every 3rd and short...just like in college, Elliot has a knack for moving the sticks. Our best chance to beat GB was to keep TOP on our side and Rodgers on the bench as much as possible.

Makes me wonder how we even won 13 games being so bad.
none of the players i mentioned contributed to the 13 wins except lawrence who did a little.
And I never said they were bad, just why the defense is not better than it is.

Cant remember which player from Athletic Bilbao (spanish soccer team), asked if he was going to play for Barcelona, he replied:

I prefer to lose with my team, that win with some other guys.

Thats Witten, but he surely prefers to win with us, than lose with us, tough :p

Refrigerator Perry scored a TD in the Super Bowl. Walter Payton did not. That's life. Actually, that's Ditka but you know what I mean.
Was t that an unbelievable miss by iron Mike??! To this day I can't get over that dis. Smh.

He signed a 1 year deal with the Giants then became a free agent , signed a multi year deal with the Bears where he became a probowler and then got traded to New England on the last year of his deal when Chicago made a coaching change and was looking to clean house anyway.

Marty B is a top 5 TE in the league right now and in his prime.
A top 3 dick to. I suppose there's a trade off.

He was an idiot in Dallas and made some disrespectful comments about Romo after he left. He was on a TV show and the host tossed Marty B a football and it was a bad toss and he called him Tony Romo.
Did you ever see Tony throw him fade routes??? Lol. A joke well deserved in my view. And I love Tony!?!

Life's not fair, we all know who the better TE is, ones a legend the other makes jokes about his opportunity in the NFL. Makes me a little queasy thinking about it, but, what are we going to do about it? Dwell on it ***** and moan, or just realize this team is better off without Marty, no matter how lucky he got landing on the Patriots?

You mean the coach of the year? lol

is that another name for s SB?

These are popularity contests
Jerry has been GM if the year but no team in the NFL would ever make him their GM

The only criteria of success is success on the field, win in the post season and have your team ready to play

Garrett fails on both counts

This is Witten's fault, not Marty B's. He couldn't get in the field here with Witt so he had no other choice.

I never understand why people made a big deal about this.

Who cares who scored in the Superbowl? Isn't the point that Payton 'won' a Superbowl?

Irrelevant. Witten is the better player and person and will be a first ballet HoFer. The other guy won't be.

I'm sure Witten would love a ring but it doesn't define how good an individual player was at his position.

I totally agree on all your comments. Garrett has peter principled his way to his ceiling. He is simply not on the level of game manager of the top coaches with good teams in the playoffs.

But coach of the year is a regular season award. It's hard to argue against 13 wins with a rookie QB.

Apparently Walter Payton cared. A great deal. Watch some of the NFL Film coverage of the incident. I think it was the simple fact that Ditka ran a gimmick play (giving it to the Fridge) instead of rewarding his franchise's greatest ever player. I worked with Gary Fencik for years in banking and he told me in direct conversation that the entire organization was pissed at Mike for that one. Was a reason the culture started to quickly diminish after 85. He lost a little of the team that day even in a blowout victory. Apparently more by his reaction at the time (sort of a shoulder shrug that he just forgot) than the actual deed itself. Ditka would admit later it was one of his greatest regrets in coaching.

Who cares? This kinda stuff is not what is going to ruin my day.
So much this. Seriously, why give a rip? How can you let something this completely irrelevant affect your life in any way?
