On 2nd and 16 from your own 14 yard line, with 2 minutes left in a tied game, against a defense that you've been carving up through the air at a historical pace but been almost completely ineffective running against, you've got to run the ball there! No doubt you can see Romo in the process of releasing the ball Escobar is just coming out of his break ahead of the LB. Maybe Escobar and do better about coming back towards the ball but I think because Romo is not able to step into the throw he does not have as much zip on the ball to gun it in there.

No, on 1st down, it might have been wise to run the ball, as opposed to come out throwing is what I think the point might be. We took a sack on 1st down. A negative play which forced events on 2nd. I also don't agree that we were ineffective running the ball. Denver ran the ball against us and that forced our defense to stay off balance. They ran for 103 yards on us but interestingly enough, we were more effective in our run game then they were against us. We ran for an average of 3.7 yards a carry against them, which is not excellent but it is certainly respectable. They ran for 3.3 against us but the difference is that they stuck with the run and we didn't. We pick up 3.7 yards on 1st down and we are in a very, very manageable down and distance on 2nd down, as opposed to 2nd and 16. I doubt Romo even throws that pass on 2nd down if we don't get sacked on 1st down. That, of course, is supposition on my part but I think the line of thought is a reasonable one.

Regardless, it's done and there is nothing we can do about it now.

Denver, on those last couple of series, played us for pass all the way. On that last drive, their LBs were dropping back right at the snap. They weren't even trying to honor the run. I think we absolutely made a mistake in not running the ball more because I believe it would have afforded Romo with more options. However, the problem in this game, even though I firmly believe Romo made a mistake by throwing to Escobar, was not that play. You have to be able to make stops and we didn't do that. That, to me, was the problem in this game, much more so then Romo's mistake. That is my opinion.

It wasn't triple coverage. I thought so at first as well. Escobar had one guy underneath and was breaking to Romo's right. There was another defender more over the top. But, there was room to throw. It wasn't the greatest decision and I really can't blame Tyron either. It was also a very good play by the defender.

It was an excellent play by the defender. LB went horizontal to make that INT. I was yelling at Escobar to come back to the ball & at least try to break it up when it happened.

Yeah, but so did they and when they had to, they scored. When we had to, we didn't. That's it and there is no real way around that single point.
