Snap counts vs pack.
Some things that stood out to me:
  • The Cowboys had 83 snaps on offense to GBs 64.
  • Tony Pollard had 72 snaps yesterday. He usually gets no more than 20-30.
  • Jalen Tolbert had 8 snaps. One of those snaps was embarrassing.
  • Four TEs had snaps yesterday. Schultz 63, Ferguson 26, Hendershot 17 and McKeon 9.
  • Kelvin Joseph had 41 snaps and DeRon Bland had 35. Bland got exposed a couple of times.
  • Jonathan Hankins had 25 snaps yesterday and had 1 tackle.
  • DLaw actually had a great game yesterday. Played 46 snaps, had 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 TFL.

What jumped out at me?

Chitty run defense? Just guessing here.

I was as surprised as DQ was that GB committed to the run. Who'd have thunk????

Pollard can be a work horse if needed.
He’s proved he can in a game. Over a long season…I seriously doubt it. Malik Davis should have had more than 5 carries yesterday. He avg 7 yds a carry. I like Pollard for about 15 carries, and the other back (Zeke or Davis) getting 10-12, and Dak getting 4-5, and maybe 1 jet sweep or gadget run with Turpin.

I'd have liked to have seen Damone Clark get more snaps to free up Parsons to move around. What they did wasn't working.

Play the young TEs more and Schultz less. He's doesn't block and his lazy route contributed towards an endzone int. He can go already.

Joseph was ok. The TD was zone and Joseph was passing off coverage to the safety.

They've been playing all 4 TEs when they're all healthy.

I wonder if they rotate too much on the DL...Maybe hard to develop cohesive run defense with many combinations of player.

I thought Clark would play more.

The biggest takeaway is Noah Brown is useless. Anyone on the field 76% of the plays and gets 1 reception for 3 yards, you seriously gotta start thinking long and hard about the receiver position. Like.... if Odell took all his snaps, we might've ran away with the game.

Exactly!

Hankins should be playing more than that. We need him to take up blockers. Quinn being stubborn in my opinion

Dak was high on a couple of throws to him, so he caught 1 of 3. But I guess you want to take a right throws to Lamb, Gallup, and Shultz to feed our fourth option, right?

I agree, I thought Davis looked good. I saw no reason why they couldn't use him with Pollard like they do with Zeke. That last run in OT was great, too bad it was called back for holding. It had us set up for a first and ten from GB 26 - if nor for the penalty, which was iffy at best.

Interesting point about the rotation. Never thought about that. The focus has always been on guys being fresh.

I am starting to think Sam Williams needs more snaps at DE. He seems to be the one guy strong enough to stand up his guy on running plays. Armstrong seems to get blocked out.

Clark getting 7 snaps on defense means they went with 2 LBs all night? Did they bring in a 3rd safety? It looks that way because all 3 safeties played more than 50 defensive snaps.

That's a little surprising since their main problem is stopping the run. But why not a 3rd LB? Have they lost faith in Clark already? I still think they need to activate Cox, even if he backs up the other LBs. They need guys who get go sideline to side line and cut through the packs to get to the RB. Cox can do that, unless he is still hurt. I wish we knew more about what is going on with him. Dog house?

I thought Cox was going to turn out to be a steal with his draft selection - but you have to get on the field to even have a chance of that. I don't understand whats going on with him either.

He played more last year as a rookie until he got hurt. Who can forget that tackled on Danny Dimes to prevent a Giants TD while also knocking him out of the game. Cox showed great recovery speed.

that our te core dominated snaps on 83 plays w 116 snap counts and they are just JAGs who don't need to be that involved

There's not enough scoring sauce in the red zone and too many costly mistakes are being made
