Snap counts vs pats

Always interesting…..
Here’s what jumps out to me regarding snaps:
  • The Cowboys had 89 total snaps to the pats 54. Wow.
  • Tony Pollard only played 26 snaps.
  • Connor Williams played all 89 snaps. He now leads the league in holding penalties! What an embarrassment he’s become.
  • Those of us thinking the release of Jaylon Smith meant more snaps for Jabril Cox- he only had 1 snap.
  • Rookie DL Osa and Golston had 39 and 32 snaps.
What else jumps out for you?

Wish we had someone to do more of the blocking snaps at RB
Those snaps are much like runs and wear on a guy in a long season

Yeah, good point. I wonder if Cory Clement could be the guy who takes a few snaps atRB as he learns all of the playbook.
Zeke is a great blocker but that’s a lot of wear
I don’t know about clement but pollard isn’t near as good so if clement can block and catch I’d get him some reps
17 games is a long season plus all those playoff games

Anyone find it odd we call Ralston up, he's active and then doesn't get a single offensive play? Just seems like odd player management.

One other note on Connor Williams. I’ve noticed this year that he is the only starting O-lineman that never plays a single snap on special teams. That’s extremely rare. The reason? He’s not reliable enough to not get bull-rushed into a blocked XP, FG or punt.[/QUOTE]
Is that just your opinion or do you have inside knowledge?

Well Rock, it isn’t my opinion that he gets zero Special Team snaps. We can see that in the snap count report. Why he isn’t getting ST snap counts is my opinion. My calculated guess is because he’s vulnerable to the Bull rush. Obviously that’s just a guess on my part. But he’s the only starting OL not having any ST snaps.

Especially when he took the opportunity to sit out in OAK when he probably could have played. Mentally, he was just not in OAK.
It wasn’t a good situation in Oakland those last couple years. The only player kept was Carr from that 12-4 team in Carr’s big debut season when he was a MVP candidate until he got hurt. Coopers first two years were productive .

He fades all too often in too many games with us too. With the receiving Corp we have now he’s become a luxury we might not can afford. And Gallup should be more affordable to resign after an injury riddled season.

Regardless, we have a new #1 WR. Why would we continue paying Cooper like it.

That’s an excellent observation. He’s obviously a weak link on our OL. Must be leading the team in holding calls.

Who told you this? Was it Bones or McCarthy?

cox only 1 play,,man what's up with that..LVE is not great in space and need to see Cox get more involved..

Yeah I meant the reason he doesn’t play on special teams. I hadn’t seen that said anywhere and thought maybe you had. Sorry if it came off snarky as that essentially my intention. I should have worded my question better.

It’s all good brother, I didn’t take it bad. I had noticed in the snap counts each week (starting a few weeks ago) that C-Will wasn’t playing on any ST snaps, which I thought was odd considering all the other starter OL were playing on XP and FG STs. It is interesting.

His penalties are an indication that he does struggle at times and therefore commit penalties to try and over come it.

They give those snaps to McGovern.

They want to give McGovern as many snaps as possible.

I think they came up with the idea to use McGovern at FB because they were looking for ways to get him into the game.

So, if Biadiaz gets special team snaps, where does he play? He isn’t the long snapper. Is he a blocker on return teams? Seems an odd role for the starting center.
