No bravado here, I have to honestly say "no", and this is the first time I have said that in 10 years (even during our period of dominance). This Cowboys team is just on a whole different level from Washington, and the game is in Dallas.

can't say i disagree.

There's a reason why the line is 11 points.

but i'm wondering why its not more than 11. given the current mindset, personality of the team and status of key players (taylor, mainly), if the skins keep it to within 11, i'll be surprised.

do i sound down on the team, or is it just me?:

I remember the same things being said about us going into the Buffalo game. About the only difference is that we are at home. Of course, I don't see Romo throwing 5 picks. It seems like he's learned from that.

Say what??

Near as I can figure, on offense the Boys did not have Romo, Owens, FB Oliver Hoyte, OG Leonard Davis, OG Kyle Kosier or OT Marc Colombo starting 2 years ago... C Andre Gurode only started 2 games that season... that's 7 new starters, just on the offensive side of the ball...

On defense, DE Chris Canty was not starting, DE Jason Hatcher was not on the team, DT Jay Ratliff was not starting, OLB Anthony Spencer was not on the team, IL Akin Ayodele was starting for the Jaguars, FS Ken Hamlin was playing for the Seahawks... that's 6 more starters or regulars on defense who are different from that 2005 season...

Throw in rookie kicker Nick Folk, and you have no fewer than 14 starters or regulars this year who were not contributing to the team in 2005... to say that this is basically the same team is asinine...

And 6 of those new players are either Pro Bowlers already (Romo, Owens, Gurode), or are playing at a Pro Bowl level this year (Davis, Hamlin, Folk)... that's a lot of new playmakers that you guys did not have to contend with two years ago...

Not to mention a whole new coaching staff, and a brand new, more wide open offensive scheme...

If I cared enough, I'd go through and list all the new players for the Skins too, but I think I've already done more than enough to shoot down your little theory...

Man this post sure is filled with alot of EXCUSES. It's midseason, every team has injuries... Fact is, your team just isn't very good and your coaching staff is old and extremely conservative...

Exactly!

Take no prisoners and bury this team Sunday Boys.

IIRC, even the Pats were only 14 points favorites against the Skins... that being the case, the Boys as an 11 point favorite sounds about right...

I'm guessing this season will not be put in your scrapbook of favorite seasons... :D

Always a bit concerned before games. I think if Dallas goes out and plays their style of football they should walk away with the win.

Besides the odds makers must have read, that Wade reigns Jason in when we are winning with a comfortable lead, he doesn't seem to care to run up the score.

This game has that same feeling before the Buffalo game. Fans very overconfident. The Skins have a running game and can throw the deep ball and Romo could have an off day. Skins are very good in the first half and Cowboys step it up in the second...so at halftime it could be close until Dallas puts a nail in it. Every game worries me and this is the Skins, weird crap always happens.

Of all the games left .... this one or the Jets would hurt us the least if we lose.

We need to beat Green Bay and the Lions .... and we have another shot at Washington.

But I still do not think we are doing to lose.

On paper, we shouldn't have too much of a problem with the Commanders. However, since this is a division game, and more importantly, a rivalry game, I just don't want to see us take them too lightly.

so, is there any reason the point spread is only 10 1/2? :(

It's only 10 1/2 because Wade already announced that only the third stringers are going to play in this game because he wanted the starters to have an extra bi-week. :laugh2:

The difference is, we are playing at home so our team won't have to worry about the noise and we aren't looking ahead one week to the Patriots. I was worried heading into Buffalo, this week not so much so.

Personally I worry about every game but that's just me. I try not to get overconfident because it usually ends in disaster.

Riggo, you have a Joe Gibbs coached team that will do everything it can to control time of possession. If Portis has a good day, this is an achievable goal. If the skins can keep the score down, there is always a chance for someone to make a play. The Cowboys played this kind of football for years and had success at times when the odds were against them. We'll see how it goes but I'm not taking your team lightly.

I worry about every opponent we play.

For example, I never would have thought that SD would have beaten the Colts last weekend. Especially after Minn ran up and down SD's defense the week before (the game where AP set the single game rushing record).

Frankly said, after the close shave versus the Bills in Buffalo a few weeks ago, I'd hope our team doesn't take anyone lightly.

I look for a repeat of the Giants game . The Skins will keep it close in the first half by simply playing their hearts out . Dallas will make adjustments at half , pour it to them in the 3rd , and it will be over by the 4th . No knock on the Skins , they are just too banged up , playing on the road , coming off a heartbreaker , and playing a team that simply out matches them . Plus , the fans over confidence doesn't reflect how the team feels . Every player on the field knows this is an important game .

i'd be more excited about the game if the skins were healthy. but i still wouldnt put the skins on the level of the cowboys if they were.

anything can happen in these games, but as a fan of the underdog in this matchup, i'm less optimistic.

I always worry, I've been to Texas stadium once, november '95, huge game against our big rivals at the time... their QB is down so a JAG named Grbac (what kind of name is Grbac!!!!) is starting, I'm 100% sure we are wiping the floor with these arrogant streak stealing fancyniners...
Nevermore... I'm always worried now.
