Garrett isn't an underling, and we all know that but a lot of people keep forgetting that when we brought Garrett back and made him the highest paid offensive coordinator in the history of the league, we also gave him the title of Assistant Head Coach.

Yeah, but did he really earn that title or was Jerry a little overzealous in handing him that title and that money? If I remember right Garrett had only been coaching a couple of years before coming to Dallas, and he was in minor coaching roles. I think one year he was just an unspecified offensive assistant.

At this point, I think Jerry would do a better job as OC than Garrett.

Some of ya'll might not want to hear this but part of the problem is that this team is not as talented as some think.I'm not saying that this team is chopped liver but this team is not loaded for bear either. This team has some good players, but how many players on this team would you consider impact players? How many players on this team are coveted by other teams?

If indeed this team is not as talented as most believe it would explain why this team struggle against the better teams.I'm not trying to say that it's all on the players, the staff is at fault as well.Just another thing to consider.

They did it well against Philly, but sucked against GB. I'm sure part was because they weren't expecting that kind of pressure from GB, but they better be expecting it now.

Well they had better be prepared for everyone to bring it until they stop it.

From an execution standpoint correct?

My biggest beef against our Offense is we are nothing short of terrible at identifying DB's when they blitz.

It's both execution and scheme. I'm not an OC but I guarantee you I understand if a team is successful blitzing you they will do it until you stop it. Why not? You have to scheme for it then you have to execute.

And you are right about picking up blitzing DBs.

This is not brain surgery. They are a veteran line who should be able to recognize whatever is thrown at them.

There is holes in the offense because we played bad vs GB? Sorry bad games happen Dallas has faced pressure defense and made them pay as we did in Philly the week before. I'm getting tired of over reaction as soon as we lose a single game all of a sudden the offense is broke.

I don't think it is broke we had plays for the taking and our guys did not make them. I do agree blitz pickup is important and we did a very poor job in the GB game of doing that. Even Barber who is normally a good blocker on blitzes was tossed to the side by Bennett when he got a sack on Romo.

I think this team has to keep working and trying to improve but I don't think anything is broken I think we had a bad day at the office.

There are holes that have yet to be fixed that are at best intermittent if you prefer. We are not consistently running at that high level our stats say we are. We are not like the Colts or Pats. We spit and sputter way too much. That's not all execution although from reading your posts it appears you feel that way.

We're missing the blitz pickups and we are not keeping enough in often enough to keep Romo off his back. It is more execution than scheme though.

We aren't running enough. Someone is not recognizing when to run hot routes way too often. That's execution and play calling.

I'm not going to run down a long list for you. Most here can see the problems. Fortunately they are all fixable. Not saying they will all be fixed especially by Sunday but we can be a very good team.

A wise man once said the history of mankind is like a drunk on a horse. The guy falls off the horse to the right. Gets back on the horse. Compensates. And falls off to the left.

The internet generation is worse than EVER.

I would like to add, that although I love Miles Austin, he has to do a better job of trying to bail out his QB

I saw one pass against GB, in which Romo was under extreme duress, still got it off to him, it wasn't a perfect pass, yet Austin didn't come back to the ball, he just continued to the spot where the ball was supposed to be

break-up

He has mega talent but he's inexperienced for sure. He'll get better as time goes by. Can't wait for the 2011 season to see just how good he'll be.

Question is why doesn't the head coach go over and slap the mess out of his underling OC (who technically has to follow his decisions right)?

Do you really not know the answer (to either question)?

Maybe because we are the 4th ranked offense and scoring about 25 points a game and sitting in 1st place?

Its a shame that our Owner/Gm who knows nothing about football knows more than our offensive coordinator.

Jerry has now called for Miles....great decision

Jerry has now called for ogletree....made the most of his opportunities (few big firstdowns)

Jerry is now calling for felix and the runnig game.

you mean the same offense that just got offensively outcoached and shut down - AGAIN - by an inferior opponent? Yeah, now you know where you can stick thos rankings...

exactly. stats only carry you so far. we were completely shut down in green bay and denver. every other team will copy their approach.
