Many coaches are failures at the top level, the question is what did you learn from it?

I think Quinn took a common stand back and let his coordinators run their units, it would seem he's more hands on and player motivational here, All successful HCs are hands on ... or the opposite of the chubby one.

I guarantee you, is the offense played with the heart of the defense last year, we'd have gone further.

Sean Payton is a great coach but he hasn’t accomplished anymore than McCarthy. His playoff record is 9-8 and McCarthy’s is 10-9 and both have one Super Bowl win. Nothing is going to change with Sean Payton as the Cowboys head coach with Jerry Jones in control. We didn’t go anywhere with Bill Parcells. Regardless the head coach it’s been pretty much the same results. Sean Payton is going to go where the money is and where he has the best chance to win and that won’t be in Dallas. Some team is going to offer him a lot of money and give him a lot of control if not all control with personnel. He’s never going to get close to the control he needs to be successful under the Joneses. Someone is going to give Sean Payton the Bill Belichick treatment and that won’t be the Joneses.

The difference is that Payton built New Orleans brick by brick. MM inherited a HOF QB and a playoff caliber roster. Sean is a builder. MM is not. Is he Bill Belechek? No. But nobody else is either.

They pretty much both have the same record. Both coaches won a SB with a generational QB. They aren't miracle workers.

I don't think Seany P could do anything better this year.

You have to be allowed to build and Sean Payton wouldn’t be allowed to build under Jerry Jones. Jerry Jones has full control over personnel and I don’t see that ever changing. Besides talent has never been the issue with the Cowboys. They’ve had some loaded teams over the years. It makes no difference that McCarthy inherited a Hall of Fame QB, Sean Payton brought in Drew Brees the very first year he coached in New Orleans so both he and McCarthy started off with future Hall of Fame QBs from day one.

If Sean Payton returns in 2023 whoever hires him is going to get what’s left of him. He passed on a lot of money in New Orleans and what he was reportedly offered from other teams because he’s burned out. The bottom line is changing head coaches isn’t going to do any good with the Cowboys. McCarthy is the seventh head coach Jerry Jones has hired since he and Jimmy parted ways and what good has it done?

So, we will have 2 new starting WR, 2 new starting offensive tackles, a new starting LG, 1 new starting DE and Jerry really thinks it matters if Tyron gets healthy for the playoffs. LOL, just LOL.......Get ready for no first round pick next year, Payton will be the Cowboys HC. History has repeated its self, he hired 3 moron HCs in between Jimmy and Bill, now he has done the same since Bill cause if he doesn't it's his *** on the line in the media.

Why is everyone so high on Payton? Like McCarthy, He has only won 1 SB with a "Hall of Fame" QB...If everyone insists on blaming the Jones for a lack of Championships over the last few decades, then how would Payton , or any other coach truly make the difference?
