imo those were probably the two best options for our football team at that point in the draft.

I personally would've taken Brown but Jones could save us big money over the next 5 years if he's a quality player.

Who would have predicted Brown, Gregory and Jones would have been there to choose from? Super crazy 1st Rd.

Doesn't look like anyone was willing to take the risk in the first.

Wouldn't be surprised if he keeps falling.

I do understand. The potential for me was very enticing. I also dont have a great veiw of the talent at the bottom of the 1st. To me it looked like alot of mid to late second round talent

I like Brown but I can live with Jones, no trade up and the flex with S and CB was apparently what they were looking for along with the size!

I like them both a lot. I think I would have gone with Brown, but I'll trust Marinelli picking players for his own scheme over me any day.
I mean, that is what happened

Yeah... I would just like to see us bolster the trenches and get a push up the middle.

Aaron Rodgers will have no problem beating tight coverage. He's that good. A collapsing pocket is another animal though.

Hopefully we address DE/DT tomorrow and I would think RB may be in play as well.

Love to get Grady or some edge pass rush.

yup.....I posted that a couple of days ago. We wanted that flexability. I would have went with Eric Rowe if that was the direction though. I think the Cowboys got caught up in the combine numbers.

I hope the pick works out. I'm not shocked by the pick since that was the vibe going into this.....and the in the Jerry era that has been his MO...passing on guys like Shaun Rogers, Sheriff Floyd....guys w/ beef.

I've always wondered if Jerry carries a beef against alpha males????? Because it sure seems like it

Hopefully we get some DE/DT help today, we need some pass rush and beef so to speak!

I wanted brown but with how happy the war room was celebrating that they got their player a few picks ahead takes away the disappointment. In Rod we trust and our scouts have been money with our 1st rounders. I'm more than content with Jones

Thought they played the 1st round about right, big drop off in day 2 CBs....but plenty of pass rushers still on the board.... love to see Frank Clark a Cowboy

I don't see that big of drop offs in the 2nd. Rowe, PJ, and Darby all just about right their with the 1st round corners. 1st round corners have been completely over hyped.

It comes down to who you feel is the worse player, who is more of a liability starting on this defense.

Brandon Carr or Nick Hayden.

Easy decision there.

Brown would be my pick but not upset with getting Jones. There are a number of players I liked and in the end I don't expect the Cowboys to draft my guys I do expect them to get good talented players and I feel they did just that

This was my take. I can live with Jones but Brown was clearly the better player IMO. So my only conclusion is that we strayed from the board and let need drive our pick, which isn't comforting at all.

Nick Hayden is like a 300 pound cockroach that just refuses to die. That dude defiantly refuses to give up his spot.
