So we're just supposed to forget the whole Mingo for a 4th rounder?

I see no reason why he can't compete for a spot. I can't believe how many idiots infest this forum with their ignorance and stupidity. Why would any fan root against a player on their supposed favorite team? Why wouldn't you want Mango to be successful? We need depth and quality backups or maybe trade him. OMG some of you are so stupid!!!

i didnt forget

mingo is so bad he is just invisible he dont do anything he is a huge bust idc what grade they had on him in the draft i do not care at all

i wont forget jerry and stephen throwing 2 4th rd pick (where u still have a good enough chance to get a starter or rotation player) in the garbage for lance and mingo
Lol

If you really feel that way then you are 100% clueless and need help. Mingo won’t even be on the active roster after this trade and will probably not even make it out of camp
you post nonsense like this and tell other people they are clueless? Good grief.

How do you know?

He’s done zip in his time in the NFL. We threw a 4th round pick at a reclamation project.
Who was his QB in Carolina? Who was his QB is Dallas last year? Some perspective might be needed.

He absolutely will compete for a spot. The issue is spending 4th round picks on high risk developmental players with short term team control. A 4th round pick is still going to be a high risk, but you at least get a full rookie contract to develop and evaluate them. At least the Pickens trade offers significant upside. Thats a significantly better deal for the Cowboys even if it requires more draft capital than spending another 4th round pick for a player who needs development and is blocked to see the field like they've now done with Mingo and Lance.

So its the QBs who make him run bad routes and not create separation? If WRs cant play with those WRs no one told Adam Theilen. Jalen Coker and Xavier Legette who both passed Mingo on the depth chart seemed to do decent as rookie players as well. If Cooper Rush was the problem why did Lamb go for 1200 yards again? How did Tolbert and Turpin have solid years?

The QB will impact these things, but Mingos numbers were off the charts bad. His .62 yards per route ran last season was 183rd out of 187 skill players in the league last season. Most players in that low of the stat are typically RBs who are catching passes behind the LOS. The film isnt much prettier to suggest he is heavily weighed down by poor QB play as well.

1. The team needs depth.
2. Mingo will get a full offseason with the offense and new "schemes" playbook etc
3. If he plays well, perfect, competition and depth at WR. Maybe could effectively run a 11 formation again.
4. If he sucks, so it goes.

I wasn't a big fan of the move, but it's water under the bridge and in the ocean at this point.

It's year 3 for Mingo in the NFL. Time for him to show he belongs or not.

I mean we all did a double blink last year when that trade was announced. It’s comical at this point. Can someone please post the Bevis and Butthead pic.
When he is off the team next year...you can come back and gloat.

If he IS on the team, you'll conveniently forget you posted this. Win win for ya buddy! Great job.

Okay if Lamb, Pickens, Tolbert, Turpin, and Mingo are WRs 1 thru 5 who is running downfield on special teams on kick and punt coverage trying to tackle the returner? Mingo? That's what we traded for?

When building rosters teams look at the fact they can only have 48 players in uniform on game day. The days of starters playing on special teams (like Darren Woodson) are long past.

Mingo is going to have to either beat out Tolbert as WR 3, get cut, or be a weekly inactive unless he plays ST. That's all I am saying.

Yes let it go lol. Cant undo it, they could trade him or cut him if he doesnt look good enough
AFTER TC!! the guy hasnt even had a camp with us, with new coaches, he just was thrown into games lol.
Going thru off season camps and then "TC, and PS games are what the young players need.

Just be thankful neither Mingo nor Pickens cost them even one 1st round draft pick.

In Jerryland, that's a win.

Besides, what guarantee do we have that either one of them will be healthy for game #1?

In Jerryland, that is a vital consideration.
