I just don't understand why fans cannot accept that we are not a GREAT Team and just be happy when we win and that we are on the verge of making the playoffs after missing last season.
We beat Philly in Philly and the same fans think we've finally arrived...we beat Washington and totally throttle Oakland who today beat the SB champs, but today we lose to the NYGiants on the road, and suddenly we "have no heart" again.
It's total idiocy. This is the NFL...we are not the greatest team in the NFL...we are a team that hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade and missed the playoffs altogether last season.
So we made some mistakes and lost on the road to a good team with some very good players who came up with some backbreaking plays (fumble recovery and return on MBIII, crazy avoid a sack flip to TE who rumbles down into the redzone, Halfback pass for 72 yards against man coverage, unlikely punt return for TD).
No one likes it...I get that. But how can one lousy loss on the road suddenly make the Dallas Cowboys a team with no heart that you already want to predict collapse and firing the coaching staff over?
I'm guessing there are few teams around the NFL with fans like this. IF we finish out of the playoffs, fine...gripe then, but we have 4 games left and will make the playoffs, possibly win our division, if we simply go 2-2. I'm going to enjoy it and believe we can do it until we don't...we could get hot and make it all the way to the NFC championship game or more, but I couldn't enjoy it if I hated every human aspect of my team because it wasn't perfect and didn't win every game I thought it should win.
Two years ago we were 12-3, but playing a whole lot worse than we are this year at this point with an offense that couldn't move the ball and a defense that couldn't stop anyone. Winning our division and having home field advantage didn't seem like much fun the way we finished in December that year.
This team made enough mistakes to lose on the road today, but this team has a real shot to do more than that team did, imo.
