So what actually surprises us about today?

We are still in position to make some noise

I doubt the Patriots are writing themselves off.

Why should we?

Are you serious? The pats play in a division with a bunch of frauds. We play in a division where the eagles and giants have proved they can turn it on when it counts. The pats gave won 3 superbowls this decade, we don't even have a playoff win, no comparision.

Actually, nothing.

Same old story.

No killer instinct.

Ya can't dominate early in the game like that and not open a bigger lead....ya can't give up two TD's within the last two minutes of the half...ya can't put together a strong drive to take the lead back and then give it up on ONE play (the FIRST play) to Jacobs...and ya can't give up that punt return....as an asterisk, ya can't miss a wide open Roy Williams...as good as Romo's numbers were...

In the end, it's the same story...4-5 plays that break this team's back in every big game.

:clap2: Well said... I couldn't agree more!

Because making noise is what the Pats do

Losing in December is what we do

Do your self a favor and just accept that this team is just like every other cowboys team, all talk, it will make the rest of the month a little less painful.

Acceptance is the first step on the road to recovery :laugh2:
Nope. I'm going down til the bitter end.:)

So we should quit becuase of fear of the Giants and Eagles?

That's a loser mentality.

I disagree about the punt return ... there was nothing wrong with McBriar's punt. The coverage was there. They just couldn't make the tackle.

You're right we have a better record than them.

wow...glad that we are the November 2009 champs then...and over the past decade we are certainly in the same company with them...as i mentioned before...WOW

What surprises me about today? Absolutely nothing. I've been cautiously optimistic the past few weeks knowing that the real test wouldn't come until the lat month of the season. We're right on pace for what I expected despite the cautious optimism.

We might still make the playoffs, but to expect to actually make some noise after seeing how this team performed AGAIN in a playoff atmosphere this season, I have a FEELING it will be nothing more than a formality. One and done.

I could be wrong (hope I am) but this team has shown me nothing this year that actually makes me thinks they can compete with the league's elite. We've beaten a decent Eagles team and what turns out to be a joke of a Falcons team. Every other team that we have faced that would even be remotely considered legit, we've had our ***** handed to us by including a fading Denver team and a Giants team on life support.

The sunshine crew will look at the overall record and say "Hey, we're 8-4 and in the division lead". What they'll fail to acknowledge is the fact that this team has beaten exactly 2 legitimately decent teams on our way to that impressive 8-4.

Drink it up.

It gets boring and predictable after a while...

Against the Giants in the playoffs, what did this team do? Right, gave up a back breaker of a TD right before halftime.

In perhaps one of the best performances we've seen from them in years, vs Pittsburg on the road...what did they do??...gave up a huge punt return late in the fourth quarter...and the Romo pick.

Last game in Texas Stadium....Romo leads the team back...the defense gives up two LONG back to back runs on the very next two plays...hmmmmm...sorta like the 72 yarder to Jacobs....after Romo lead the team back to the lead.

FG's missed at exactly the worst time...

Hell, even the intentional grounding was exactly what Romo did vs the Giants in the playoffs.

And I'm sure you guys could cite a dozen other instances that were just like today....

It's so predictable.

Brandon Jacobs catching a dink of a pass and running 74 yards for a TD.

Our defense getting shredded in less than 2 minutes after dominating them the entire half.

Our punt coverage collapsing after a great punt.

Once again, Dallas collapses on defense before the half.

The punt team gives up 7.

The turnover gave them 7 right back.

Dallas makes the mistakes, and the Giants don't

That Jacobs play was a killer.

That can't happen and shouldn't happen.

It's embarrassing.

That about sums it up.

That Romo threw no INT's, had a QB rating of 112, threw for 390 yards and 3 TD's, the offense held the ball for 38 minutes and 50 seconds and WE STILL LOST!

UNREAL!

I guess not if you expect me to compare the new england patriots to us...yeah we rank right up there with them...and I'm the dumb one...

what does the last decade have to do with this season...um, not sure...no playoff wins for us in the last 12, but WE HAVE A BETTER RECORD AT THE END OF NOVEMBER 2009...seriously? yeah, good arguement...

and as further proof that you have ZERO idea what you're talking about. We lose Romo and struggle in ONLY 4 games. They lose Brady...FREEKING BRADY after the first half of the first game last season and win more than us last year...

you're dismissed

Agree with everything except this part. That intentional grounding in the playoffs was a totally bogus call. The rule states the QB has to be throwing it away to avoid a sack. Romo just threw that one away. He wasn't under extreme duress at all, he just had no one open to throw to.

Please don't mess up a good argument with facts, ok? :D

But ya know, it happens...stuff like that just ALWAYS happens to this team...and has for years...different coaches, different players, heck now, even different stadiums...

I just don't understand why fans cannot accept that we are not a GREAT Team and just be happy when we win and that we are on the verge of making the playoffs after missing last season.

We beat Philly in Philly and the same fans think we've finally arrived...we beat Washington and totally throttle Oakland who today beat the SB champs, but today we lose to the NYGiants on the road, and suddenly we "have no heart" again.

It's total idiocy. This is the NFL...we are not the greatest team in the NFL...we are a team that hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade and missed the playoffs altogether last season.

So we made some mistakes and lost on the road to a good team with some very good players who came up with some backbreaking plays (fumble recovery and return on MBIII, crazy avoid a sack flip to TE who rumbles down into the redzone, Halfback pass for 72 yards against man coverage, unlikely punt return for TD).

No one likes it...I get that. But how can one lousy loss on the road suddenly make the Dallas Cowboys a team with no heart that you already want to predict collapse and firing the coaching staff over?

I'm guessing there are few teams around the NFL with fans like this. IF we finish out of the playoffs, fine...gripe then, but we have 4 games left and will make the playoffs, possibly win our division, if we simply go 2-2. I'm going to enjoy it and believe we can do it until we don't...we could get hot and make it all the way to the NFC championship game or more, but I couldn't enjoy it if I hated every human aspect of my team because it wasn't perfect and didn't win every game I thought it should win.

Two years ago we were 12-3, but playing a whole lot worse than we are this year at this point with an offense that couldn't move the ball and a defense that couldn't stop anyone. Winning our division and having home field advantage didn't seem like much fun the way we finished in December that year.

This team made enough mistakes to lose on the road today, but this team has a real shot to do more than that team did, imo.
