Oh, snap! is an expression popularized by Markie (The Clown Prince of Hip-Hop) in the 1989 song "Just a Friend". It has since entered the mainstream as an expression of disbelief. The phrase is a polite substitution for "Oh, ****!" It has also entered use as acknowledgement of a diss by third parties, to heighten the feeling of disrespect and insult. "Oh, Snap!" has been known to be used as another way of saying "zing!" It may also be used as an expression of shock or amazement

Irregardless of your efforts;) , the battle to rid ourselves of this word has already been lost. Since it has been recognized as a word by most dictionaries (even if it is to try and show people that it should not be a word) people will generally ignore the meaningless meaning and continue using it.

"irregardless
an erroneous word that, etymologically, means the exact opposite of what it is used to express, attested in non-standard writing from 1912, probably a blend of irrespective and regardless. Perhaps inspired by the double negative used as an emphatic."

the story of my life always jumping into a battle that is already lost

Speaking of lost Battles, that Blonde in your sig is the ultimate conundrum. "My face is up here" rings so hollow when a display like that is presented in such an obvious fashion. Can't win for trying, so why try I guess. :p:

YEs, but everyone thought that was wrong. So now we are applying a wrong standard to Belicheck?

It was wrong for the crime committed. Wade could not influence the outcome of a game on the field by taking HGH. Unless it meant he could carry more clip boards or something,

What BB did was blatantly against the rules and would effect the outcome of games. I view it as a more serious offense and undermined the integrity of the NFL which in my eyes is far worse.

If he does not get a longer suspension then Wade for this crime as well as losing a very high draft pick I will not be satisfied.

Actually....

I wouldnt be suprised if Goodall and Bullicheat and Mangenius have a sitdown about the implications, ramifications it may have on the league. They come to an understanding. Mangini says all the right things about the punishment and they move on.

It would be for the greater good of the NFL.

Well, since you are a Cowboy fan, Goodell won't really care about whether you are satisfied or not. The Pats represent one of the most populace areas of the country. The are purported to be the best in the NFL. Most teams do try to gain a competitive advantage anyway they can, short of breaking the law.

I see a token penalty and we all move on. The Pats are not going to be placed in a position where they lose competitiveness. Nor should they be.

What would anyone think if it was The Cowboys that got caught? The tune would change real fast around here.

If the Cowboys got caught doing the same thing, I would be embarassed and expect punishment. The bottom line is that Belichick is a complete arse who happens to be a great football coach. His arrogance, among other things, is one reason everyone is reveling in this situtation.

I'm sure you're right. Things would probably be a little different.

I for one would feel ashamed and disgraced.

Regardless of the team, cheating is pretty bad and should be punished accordingly.

If this was a NFL wide sting and we got caught, also... I might not be happy, but I would accept the punishment. (I think)

I have to disagree with you here, buddy.:D

It seems to me that if they were cheating, they have be gaining competitiveness, therefore that is exactly what they should loose.

And in all reality, to a greater extent, -- to prevent them (and others) from doing it again.

So is this a Belichick reaction? You can't punish a guy more severly for being an arse. And I disagree that Belichick is a great coach. He got caught by a vindictive former underling. How stupid was that to not even change your methods?

Draft picks.

Suspend coach for 5 games or more.

Large fine.

1st rounders in 2008 & 2009, howver, they do have the 49ers pick in 2008, so which ever is higher, they lose. I doubt they take both away. Kraft fined 1 million. And a minimum 5 game suspension for BB.

If wade got 5 games and 100K for his deal. This need to be at least equal in games. And it hurts a team taking away #1 draft picks .

I would be extremely upset, not only because of the cheating aspect, but because we sucked at doing it. At least the Pats won 3 SBs.

But, it wouldn't change my stance on lessening the punishment. You get caught cheating you suffer the consequences, especially in cases when they have been warned PREVIOUSLY.

Did I say he should be punished more severely for being an arse? I don't believe I did.

I simply said that some people are "reveling in it" because he is who he is. Also, if you want to get down to it, people are tired of the Patriots and their fans, so there is definitely some schadenfreude going on here

This is such a load of crap.

Belichek has had several franchises point the finger at his team and this is an act of collusion to break a rule reiterated by the commish before the season began.

This is not a couple of coaches noticing a trend just watching the signals being sent in but rather someone in the Patriots organization instructing others in the organization to film the sideline then they take the film and had it analyzed. It was deliberate and institutional. This would be no different than a front office systematically obtaining performance enhancing drugs for its players or assisting said players to avoid detection through testing. Heck, its as bad as coaches betting on their games.

That cameraman needs to be banned.

Whoever that cameraman reported to needs to be banned.

The GM and HC need to get a multiple game suspension.

The franchise needs to lose at least a day 1 pick.

This is not the act of an individual but instead a franchise as a whole systematically undermining the integrity of every game they play in. The hammer needs to fall.
