Wade Wilson - QB coach - 4 games
Bill Bullicheat - HEAD coach - atleast one more game... atleast 5 games

and that may not even be fair... he is of a much higher rank as far as coaches go... he should get 8 games really

Wade got 5 games.

sorry guys but what you all are suggestion has no teeth...

taking a pick or two...whooped dee doo...HELLO Free agency send me two players because you are the next beneficiaries of the cheat is right...

suspend Belli for 4 games...BWAHAHAHA:lmao2: Wade Wilson got 5 and a 100K for taking a legal yes it was legal (though banned for NFL PLAYERS) substance to help him with the quality of his LIFE and you all suggest 4 games for something that causes a competitive imbalance...please

this is a vagrant violation of NFL competition rules...

anything less than a year suspension for BB and anything less than a 5 year banned on all 1st round picks, plus a 10 million Salary cap reduction for 3 years is too leinent... that should be were the minimum sentence should start

With all do respect and irregardless of how i feel, DREAM ON.

I honestly believe they should forfeit the game but the odds of that happening are about 10,000,000 to 1. When a player cheats its one thing, when the whole organization is cheating they dont deserve to get the win. You can say they would of won anyway, but if that were really true why were they cheating to begin with? Plus I feel the Jets should get something out of this they are the ones who got beat by the cheaters. Maybe a good compromise would be to give the Jets a draft pick from the Pats.

I have a feeling that they will lose a 3 round draft pick and Belichik will be suspended for 4 games.

I find myself is agreement, mostly, with this. Forfieting the football game would be the perfect penalty, but we all know they won;t do that. Why, because there is no precident.

Suspending Belichick for four games is too much, IMO. What they did to Wade Wilson hurt the Cowboys and not the team he was with. It was not right and five games was WAY TOO MUCH given the pirported circumstances.

What I owuld think appropriate is suspend Belichick for one game and dny then the use of the radio headsets for their offense for four games.

There is cheating and there is gamesmanship. This, to me, falls in the latter. Again, I equate it to a corked bat in baseball. Remember, a 4 games suspension in football is a forty game suspension in baseball.

Was the camera man a homeless guy?

That explains it! The Pats were running a homeless shelter and gave the guy a job so he could earn a few bucks. They can't be responsible for what every bum in the park does!

YEs, but everyone thought that was wrong. So now we are applying a wrong standard to Belicheck?

The commish didn't think it was wrong. If he goes easy on Little Bill and the Pats it will not look good for him. He set the standard, he needs to maintain it regardless of our thoughts on the subject.

Call me a skeptic, but I'm not convinced that Goodell has the stones to do anything to punish "the genius Bill Belichik"(sp).

He really had an easy job with PacMan, Henry, Tank and then Vick. Those guys were engaged in thuggish behavior for a long time. Not that the Patriots haven't been doing this for years (if it's true) but they're not killing dogs or shooting people.

If this had been the Raiders, I bet the punishment would be different.

You answered your own question.

The perception that THAT might not be true is why he will get hammered.

pet peeve of mine (please forgive me:eek:: ) but there is no such thing as "irregardless" its just plan regardless... now on to your post:D ... I think you are 100% correct its not gonna happen...it should but it won't. I do firmly believe it would stop cheating in its tracks but again you are correct it is little more than a pipe dream.

That is interesting...

So... because something is used enough(incorrectly) its get a shot at being standarized.

Like a fad or bling-bling...

Unbelievable.

Oh and I am not buying the combination of the words "irrespective" and "regardless" resulting in "irregardless". People just dont realize the negative of "less" in this particular word for some reason and put "ir" in front.

I can't believe folks here! Michael Vick was innocent until proven guilty. Belichick should be suspended for 8 games? That wsa more than most wanted for Vick commiting felonies!
Sorry bud, you can't compare this with the Vick situation, for a few reasons.

First, there was no criminal conduct, sure... but the criminal conduct doesn't have a direct impact on the integrity of the league, nor does it have as large an impact on the league. On one hand, off the field criminal conduct typically involves one of 1700 players in the league. On the other hand, cheating to gain an on-the-field competitive advantage benefits an entire team, and is a direct hit on the integrity of the game itself.

If your coaching staff is dumb enough to get their signals stolen, then they deserve it.
You mean if they're dumb enough to not see a camera guy on their side of the field who isn't filming the game? Do you have any idea how many people are in that stadium? There's no way you can be sure that no one is stealing your signals. There's an element of trust and sportsmanship that has to be taken into consideration. The Pats cheating is the epitome of unsportsmanlike conduct.
Anyone seriously believe that this is worse than using steroids or cocaine?
Depends on who's point of view. I bet the Jets would be more inclined to say this is more important to them than if one guy on the Pats was doing Coke or doing roids.
Anyone seriously believe the Pats are the only team doing this?
Nope, but they were brazen enough to get caught, and I guarantee that if they are severely punished, no other teams will continue to do it.

And another thing to differentiate this with the Vick stuff -- I know you were talking to the "innocent until proven guilty" crowd. The Pats were caught red-handed. the officials caught the guy, confiscated his videotape, and saw what he was shooting.

All that said, this isn't being tried in a court of law. Innocent until proven guilty only applies then. If criminal charges were pressed, then you can beat that drum.

Irregardless of your efforts;) , the battle to rid ourselves of this word has already been lost. Since it has been recognized as a word by most dictionaries (even if it is to try and show people that it should not be a word) people will generally ignore the meaningless meaning and continue using it.

"irregardless
an erroneous word that, etymologically, means the exact opposite of what it is used to express, attested in non-standard writing from 1912, probably a blend of irrespective and regardless. Perhaps inspired by the double negative used as an emphatic."
