So...What do you think of the groceries BP has been buying

It's not the sack count of Spears, Fergy and Canty that bother me.

Honestly if they are doing their jobs correctly their sack counts are not as important.

If they are holding up their end of the bargin and taking care of the run and occupying the o-line enough, than the others can flow in and get the sacks.

I agree that sack totals are misleading if they are doing the other little things, but I would argue that even mediocore players are going to beat their man on occassion and get a sack over the coarse of the season. Granted they arent playing in obvious passing situations with the current rotation but 2 sacks in 15 games from 3 starting Dlinemen.

Well, before Parcells, we were getting fed potted meat and potato chips...

Now, Parcells has went shopping and brought in some steak, a few baked potatoes, a little cake, and some nice veggies, HOWEVER, I think he lost the receipt on how to cook these fine groceries!

Also, his kitchen helpers, the fry cook, the busboy, the waitress, and the dishwasher don't seem to know what the hell the kitchen is all about!

The cooks are putting A1-Sauce on the veggies, and putting Ranch Dressing on the steak!

Things don't make sense in this here kitchen...

Well said Sir.

It's like a banana split w/out the bananas......& throw in some melted ice cream.

Its the overall lack of pressure that bothers me.

How many times have we seen Ware fly around the edge, only to have the QB step up into a perfectly clean, neatly symmetrical pocket. Even Ferguson hasn't generated much pressure up the middle.

Both Canty and Spears should have at least a couple more sacks just from cleaning up after Ware, but they never get close enough to make a play. And then the QB has the extra time to checkdown to those RBs underneath that kill us so.

Both showed flashes last year and I really thought they would step up this year. Maybe its a sophmore thing or maybe they are a couple of the "talkers" T-New was talking about, but it just hasn't been there.

At the very least, someone should be benefiting from Ware being incredible. Anyone in the NFL can block one guy. Ware's efforts are generally futile, because noone can capitalize on the difference he makes by himself.

I still think that flashes towards Spears and Canty.

Part of occupying the O-Line is not just keeping a hand on them, it is also pushing them back into the pocket.

They are not getting direct pressure on the QB, ala getting a sack themselves, but it is putting indirect pressure in keeping the QB from stepping up in the pocket or shifting a little to avoid a pass rusher.

However when an oline is pushing these guys off the LOS it is not going to do much for those pass rushers coming off the end.

Fergy, IMO, has done a pretty good job this season, much better than last year. The men directly to his left and right, mostly spears/canty, have not IMO.
