I think this team will "tease" us the entire year. I believe they will even manage to beat a team like the Giants and Eagles at least once.

Ultimately, I don't see us making the Playoffs.

this game is a perfect example of why i love the nfl over college. any team can win any game no matter who they are. lets be happy with a win and before we go all doomsday we can see what happens after the bye week and find any changes made in the playcalling and such. btw austin thank you thank you thank you.

There were some good things about this game. Brooking was solid like he's been playing, DeMarcus Ware had a sack, Romo had a good game with no interceptions, and we learned a whole lot about the 60 minute potential Miles Austin has. By that, I mean he can play pretty dern good for the whole game against starting DB's. And Tashard Choice played well also, though he didn't get enough runs. The only thing that bothered me was some of Garrett's playcalling, penalties, and Patrick Crayton trying to fumble every chance he got. But besides that, it was good.

Well, dude....safeties do play behind the CB when they aren't blitzing, and they don't play behind possession guys like Keyshaun or Roy W unless the other receiver is Crayton.

It's not a double team when the safety gives help over the top...speed draws the safety...period, so yes, unless you're an idiot, you don't favor the safety towards Roy or Crayton and leave Austin's speed alone on the other side.

Winning always feels good, especially in the way we won today, but this win doesn't erase the questions and issues that are still obvious.

We still can't play smart football and avoid dumb penalties at crucial times. Romo is still having accuracy problems. We still have drives stalling out inside the 20 and leave points on the field that end up making games like this close instead of putting them away. The defense plays good at times but once again folded like a cheap lawnchair when the game was put in their hands to win.

I was whooping at the end over this win like a lot of people, but I also fully realize that a loss would have virtually ended this team's season before it even began and that we still have a long way to go.

Wayne, #1 is a pile of you know what. KC did not look like an 0-5 team? What did they have to do? Surrender at the opening coin flip? They had like 60 yards of offense in the middle of the 2nd quarter. They looked every bit the part of an 0-5 team.

KC has won 2 games - count 'em, 2 games - since October of 2007. Nearly 2 years.

They're a bad football team, any way you look at it. But even bad NFL teams often have a chance to win when their opponent is -2 in the turnover department and they committ like 15 penalties.

Extra Tidbit: No doubt in my mind that Keith Brooking is the single greatest offseason move we've made in a while; you have to love the way this guy plays and the heart he brings to it. Did you see him running down the sideline on that one offensive play? That guy is teaching everyone on this team how to win.

That may or may not be true, but I started a thread last week indicating how much I like that guy.

I would be guilty of never taking him out of the game, especially when they put Carp in for him.

Our defense always fold on the last drive. That needs to be fixed. They play great throughout the game but when it counts, they fold.

Continuity.. The season can actually be salvaged if Wade is exited right now and Garrett gets the "interim" tag. I'll never say give Garrett the HC job outright. Make him audition for the rest of the season and then re-evaluate at season's end. Garrett has to at least have enough fortitude to get in someone's face and make them accountable. By maintaining that continuity we aren't just tossing the season in the crapper. Give Red a chance to earn what he wants. I'm not a huge fan of Red but this make the most sense to me right now versus totally going in another direction this early in the season.

Sloppy win. I'm not going to get excited over beating an 0-4 team in OT. Especially since we could have put the game away numerous times today.

This team makes too many mental mistakes at the moment to be a serious contender. We get penalties that are stupid. Turn overs.

We're lucky to win, especially being -2 on the TO front.

But a win is a win. At the end of the year, when they count up the record, no one is going to ask about how it got done.

But if anyone thinks we are going to pull this sort of crap and beat a team like Atlanta needs a serious attitude adjustement. We better pick it up.

I hate to break it to you, but Garrett ain't salvaging anything. He'll just find a different spot to crash the plane. You want to take an inexperienced coach who has been struggling as of late and make him our head coach? Wade may be an idiot, but at the very least he's an experienced idiot.

I can see two things happening.

1. I already mentioned.. Wade gets the hell out and continuity is maintained until season's end by giving Garrett the interim tag.

2. Wade gets the hell out. A new coach is hired and Garrett remains OC. <-- I guess this is possible but usually new HCs want their own staffs and blowing this team up at the end of game 5 seems unfathomable.
