So what to do with Barber?

What do we do with this guy? Obviously Jones is the guy now and choice is a better backup. I know he's slow but he can't even break tackles anymore, what do you guys think we're going to do with him in minny?

I don't see any reason to change what we've been doing as long as Barber is healthy. Felix deserves a few more carries for sure but i don't think there is any need to make Felix the starter and relegate Barber to only closer duty.

Barber is just too beat up. He has lost burst and is no longer getting to the second level and punishing anyone. He falls on his face half the time without anyone touching him. His lack of speed also hurts an offense that doesn't have a true burner at WR.

However, the biggest reason I want Barber gone is so Garrett can no longer overuse him. He has shown that he has trouble getting Felix in the game with Barber around. Basically Barber crowds out Felix's touches.

I think we go back to using Barber much the same way we did when Julius Jones was here. Barber becomes the 3rd down, power runner and the guy we bring in off the bench in the 4th with the fresh legs.

^^^^^^this. Barber being hurt had FORCED Garrett to actually design plays. Too often Garret palyed with the 90s Cowboys mentality...."you know what we are going to do, but can you stop it"? You can do that with the 90s OL and Emmit...but this is NOT the 90s OL and Barber is NOT Emmit. He is slow to recognize creases, and he is slow in general. That is a BAD combination for an insider runner.

last night showed what great depth does for a team. Barber was allowed to REST in a playoff game. Jones/Choice put up nearly 200yds. Having all 3 means we can (hopefully) keep at least 2 healthy RBs on the field at all times
