So what to do with Barber?

I shifted when he slowed down a step and quit breaking tackles. In other words, I would rather the guys who produce more yards stay on the field at RB.

Yep...play-makers stay on the field....there is a time and place for bruisers, but it's not a majority of the time....he can block.

At this point, teams see him in there they will think that he may get the handoff....if he stays back to block or comes out of the backfield for a pass, he would be more valuable...but think about who is more valuable as a RB....or more productive which is what it all comes down to....it's FJ, TC and then MBIII....that's just the way it is.

I don't care if he stays, but I think Felix and choice are better. I would be fine with him as 3rd string.

I bet Choice is out against Minnesota. It looked like he may have gotten another concussion.

Barber will be important next week.

Next year? Not so much.

Does he have a concussion? Some say that he was saying that it was his eye.....they said they thought they read his lips saying that and he did squint a couple of times....

But my first thought was concussion as well.....dang new rules!

No reason to get rid of Barber.

He just adds another demension to this team and we aren't seeing the best of MB3 this year because of injuries.

Its time (been time) to let Felix get a lot more PT but there is still a place for Barber on this team.

When you play on the road hes a good guy to have.

Barber hasn't been himself since the injury. Right now they are using the RBs very well.

Some of you need to slow your roll.

Barber is still a big part of this team. In many ways, he and Austin are the emotional heart and soul of our offense. Barber is a guy that has given his body to the Cowboys and sometimes that body needs rest. Don't read more into tonight than that.

He has lost a step, but he's still a top 15 back in the NFL. Felix and Tashard are our future, but for right now, they are still the spell backs on this team.

Top 15 back in the NFL?
Absolutely no way. He can't be traded for more than a 3rd round pick.
He is the 3rd best back on the Cowboys.
Nothing against him personally.

You do whatever it takes to keep a guy like Barber on your roster. Whatever it takes.

That being said, when you look at all the rising stars on this offense it's unrealistic to expect to keep all 3 RBs in a Cowboys uniform unless they're going to play for peanuts.

Felix stays without question as he brings something the other 2 do not. So basically it comes down to a decision between Barber and Choice. Right now, today, Choice has the edge.

We should consider ourselves fortunate to have this "problem".

we have depth at RB for crying out loud...that's a GOOD THING

we do nothing until we absolutely have to

Barber is still gona be our Short yardage guy perid.. dude is a beast in short yardage.. don't give up on the Barbarian now fellas

I think that lately he dances too much in the backfield. Now, maybe that is the line's fault, but it still stands that he isn't hitting the hole and getting positive yardage.

I honestly would take the highest trade offer for him in the off season, if we could get a 3rd and 7th round it is worth it to clear off his contract plus get a few picks.

Agreed

My concern is how much cap space he's soaking up..

Felix and Choice are gonna want to get paid once their Rookie contracts are up..

Trade Barber now while he has some value !

I still believe in Barber, and he's still one of my favorite cowboys. You guys will all go back to loving him soon enough. It might not happen until next year, but it will.

I may be wrong, but this sounds a lot like offseason talk. And, umm, we aren't there yet. Let's just focus on the next game, you know, our second playoff game.

There will be plenty of time to discuss Barber's trade value when we aren't playing anymore. As of right now, he is a part of this playoff-winning team.
