that's my whole point. Merriman is coming off missing an entire season due to injury. Tom Brady isn't exactly wreeking havoc either. Ware is also playing at not 100% due to injury. this Steroid stuff is funny too cause for all we know Ware could've been on the juice last season when he had 20 sacks. it's the NFL after all.

I'd pass on Merriman without even giving it a second thought. Continue to develop the young talent that's already on the team (Spencer, Butler, Williams, etc) and see how they pan out.

Honestly, I don't think Merriman is the player he once was.

And this year he's done nothing.

He's already at a career crossroads.

He's worn out his welcome in San Diego, is coming off major injury, and has been a non-factor so far while looking for a new contract.

A bad combination.

So in other words we'll give up a first rounder for him.

You knows it wierd, guy gets two sacks in 5 plays vs Carolina, and from what I could tell hardly played at all (if any) vs Denver and KC.

Those two sacks werent fluke plays either, he beat a very good young RT twice, easily.

I would pick up merriman, simply to add help. Our outside linebackers look so fatigued at the end of the game.

A rotation would help, and we obviously miss ellis.

Not only that, he was concussed week 1 and is still getting double/triple teamed. Nobody's double and triple teaming Merriman and he's invisible.
