So you rather be the Vikings or Cowboys fans today?

The OP was trying to ask would you rather be a fan of the team that lost last week (like the Boys did) or a fan of the team that lost today in the NFC championship game (like the Vikes did). Of course, we would all rather be Cowboy fans, but that clearly wasn't the intent of his question.

Amazing how some can't grasp that simple question.

And to answer it, I'd rather have lost like we did last week than how the Vikings did today. I was around for the three straight conference championship games from 80-82. They all sucked, but no doubt that one point loss in '81 was the toughest and still irks me sometimes.

It flat out hurts, and hurts for a long time. I've never gotten over some of those losses.

Me neither, I still can't watch the catch, I almost kill myself diving for the remote so I can change the channell when they show that damn play. Can't bear to watch plays from our Super Bowl losses to the Steelers either.

So I guess I'd rather go ahead and lose the way we did last week versus a heart crusher losing the way the Vikings did. They're gonna "what-if" themselves to death

I'm proud and happy to be a Cowboys fan. We have a very good team and had a very good year. We also have a QB that will keep us in contention for years. Can the Vikings say that? Nice pass Brett. Karma's a female dog Childress, ain't it?:laugh2:

The Vikings are gonna be thinking about this loss for years. We'll get past this and move on to bigger things next year.

Cowboys - because only the Saints clearly proved to me that they belonged in the NFC Championship game, and Dallas would've easily beaten them today.

Win or lose I would rather have watched the Cowboys tonight.
Bingo.

We are Cowboys fans. I can't think of any time I'd root for another team.

Their QB will be retired within the next few months most likely. I'll take an earlier playoff exit with a QB that's going to be around a while.

Always a Cowboys fan..no matter what. Can you believe a team we beat is going to the superbowl? I think 2010 is our year..we were almost there this year..and we keep getting better!:starspin

I sure hate to be Vikings fan. This would make me down couple weeks. I felt that when cowboys lost that game in 2007. So close and yet so far. This year, it was easy to forget because, Cowboys didn't have chance. At least that way, you can't think about, maybe if they made this play or that play, we could have easily won.

Boy, I would hate to be Vikings fan, especially considering, clearly, Vikings were the better team by a mile, other than the fact they had ton of turnovers and even got lucky to not have more actually.

I'd much, much, much, much rather be a Cowboys fan than a fan of any other team, including the Vikings.

But I'm sure you meant to ask whether we'd rather have the Cowboys lose last week like they did or lose this week like the Vikings did. I'd rather have lost this week than last week, no matter how it happened, because that means we would have won last week.

I'm not one of those who would rather lose in the first round than lose in the NFC title game, or who would rather lose in the NFC title game than lose in the Super Bowl. I'd rather win every single game, but if that doesn't happen, I'd rather win as many times as possible. Losing the Super Bowl is better than not making it, and losing in the NFC title game -- even in overtime after your quarterback throws away your chance to win in regulation -- is better than not making it that far.

Absolute truth.

I remember being 11 years old back in 1994, bawling my eyes out after the beatdown San Fran put on us, not knowing how to comprehend the pain I was experiencing. As a young fan it was my first time to feel the agony of heartbreaking defeat and I remember it vividly.

I was 4 years old when my grandfather died and barely knew him, but my mother has told me he would never, ever talk about The Catch for the rest of his life. If someone mentioned it he would simply shake his head and say "I don't want to talk about that".

I guarantee you whatever we felt last week doesn't compare to what Vikings fans are feeling.

I would much rather lose the way we did than to lose the way the Vikes did.

Why you ask???

Because losing like the Vikes did will stick with them for a long, long, long time. They will be playing the "what if" game forever, whereas we know exactly what the problem was in our loss (o-line) and since the game was over by halftime there is no thinking "what if".

How many times have posters said on here said "what if Crayton had caught that ball" back in the 07 playoff game???

Or....what if Romo had been able to scramble another....what, yard and a half after the botched field goal attempt? (Remember tiny Gramatica's valiant effort to block?)

Gah. Gut wrenchingly, heart crushingly, dream killingly awful.

Now imagine that there was never any Staubach or Aikman to give us a single Super Bowl win on top of that, and your hope for next season is that your 40 year old, beat all to hell QB doesn't retire.

Yeah. I'd rather be us tonight.

LOL!!!!

Good points, it would suck to be a Viking right now. I guess they can go back to their "hood" now and try to convince the Crypt Keeper to come back for another year.........of course they will have to wait until after training camp for the answer!!!

I'm pretty sure I've said it over a thousand times and will never truly get over that until we win another Super Bowl.
