Did he really have to run out of bound on one of those catches?

I forget when it happened, but he was running down the sideline, saw some defenders and just stepped out of bounds.

It was a safe decision, but I hate when I see that kinda stuff.

I like Austin because he works hard for his TDs. He doesn't avoid tackles and if he gets hit, he breaks them.

A little disappointed too in Roy's wussy effort there

And people thought we'd miss TO. See, we still have a WR willing to step out of bounds at the end of a play.

He is a WR, they are usually tackle adverse. Also, I am not sure that the ribs are 100%.

sometimes when you are the #1 wr on a team......you don't have to/or don't want too get hurt ;-) so you avoid contact when possible

He did get out of bounds, I have no problem with him doing that since the extra 2 or 3 yards was not worth taking the big hit from the LB and his 2 buddies coming right behind him.

It is no different then catching the ball in the middle of the field and hitting the deck before getting decked.

They talked about this on the lunch break show a little bit ago. They didn't care for it either. IMO, if his ribs are still bothering him, then fine, otherwise, bad move.

Maybe that's my problem. I have a safety/LB combo mentality.

No wussiness allowed. ;)

I don't really fault him for it that much, but still......I like to see football players play tough and fight for every yard...So it was kinda disappointing to see this

I was mad at this also... looking at the replay several times however.. with the angle the LB had.. there was not a whole lot there to gain. If he tried to stop on a dime.. to cut back he would have gotten drilled. Still.. it would have been nice to see him stick his head down and get 2-3 more yards..

I doubt he was going to get more than 2-3 yards. That linebacker was closing in on him fast.

If RW had done that and came up short of a 1st then I think he would deserve to be called out but RW will layout to make the 1st and expose himself to the hit going over the middle. In this case he got as many yards as he could then took it out of bounds instead of taking the big hit.

I thought at the time that he was walking the tight rope and did not have complete balance when he turned the corner. Maybe he did and was just protecting his ribs. Outside of actually stepping on the sideline I was hoping he'd plow right through the tackle too rather than step out.

I know. :)

However, Roy's act of self preservation wasn't the most cowardly act in last night's game. Samuels was playing like a garden tool after Felix "Killa Cat" Jones iced another one.

At first I thought he had lost his balance but looking at it again I cant really tell he didnt have a lot of room to manouver there.

He is not trying to win the macho man of the year award. :laugh2: It was a good play on his part it was a big pickup and at most your talking 2 to 3 yards extra. There is host of eagles defenders bearing down on him and a wise man knows when to walk away.

I dunno. I wouldn't **** around with a concussion either.

Concur...Risk/reward at that point, IMHO, and what's the reward at that point?
