Looks like Gilmore is still playing at a + starter level. I dont think this move removes CB as a 1st possibility, but it takes alot of pressure off of any CB if he is the pick

CB was never going to be the pick in round 1, barring some stud falling. This move just locks that in.

CB was absolutely in the discussion for round #1 before this trade. In fact, it was probably the most likely pick.

A qb throwing a 82.6 rating is considered garbage. So Gilmore is still on it.

176th pick in the draft unlikely to make much of an impact this year or probably ever. Have to look at it that way.

The 9 CB's they met with at the combine say otherwise.

I dont see how you wouldnt see CB as a major need. Brown is a FA. Lewis is a coming off a season ending injury, mediocre at best, and only signed for one more year. Joseph and Wright are unplayable. Even with Bland and Diggs, CB was a major need. Even trading for Gilmore, it doesn't wipe it away as a 1st round possibility. That would be incredibly short sighted

It was in discussion as a big need but I don’t think too many thought the CB’s would fall allowing it to be BPA. I think the top 4 corners are gone (Gonzalez, Porter, Witherspoon, Banks) for instance and that’s leaving it rather unenticing.

This was a smart move by the Cowboys.

Diggs, Gilmore, and Bland I like that combo! Lewis would provide good depth if he's back, but he also carries a 5.8 million cap hit. 4.2 million savings if released. Will be an interesting call, but we found out last year that you can’t have enough good corners corners.

Add a couple rookies, give some competition to Joseph and Wright and see what happens!

I think Banks is 50/50 imo

Agree 100%........he's a solid 1-year band-aide but if one of the top 3 CBs falls to 26, you run the card up.

Also, remember Jane said they like that he can play multiple coverages..........

People forget he was the best corner in the league just a few years ago. He also has played in a lot of big playoff games. Agree, we are still looking for another corner, but he is a very nice bridge starter and is an upgrade over Brown.
