I still think Banks has a shot at being there at 26. If he is, he is definitely in the convo
Should be the 3rd CB taken. If you want a press-man corner, this is your dude. Has a little nastiness in him as well.

I figured Pittsburgh would be going corner for sure (and still might) but they nabbed Pat P. on 2-year. I had them grabbing Porter Jr. @ 17 which should put Banks next in line.

I would think the smart money moves to O'Cyrus Torrence as our first pick given McGovern's departure, and MM's crowing about running the ball.

He should be the 4th after Witherspoon. Gonzalez and Porter Jr

The 9 CB's they met with at the combine say otherwise.

I dont see how you wouldnt see CB as a major need. Brown is a FA. Lewis is a coming off a season ending injury, mediocre at best, and only signed for one more year. Joseph and Wright are unplayable. Even with Bland and Diggs, CB was a major need. Even trading for Gilmore, it doesn't wipe it away as a 1st round possibility. That would be incredibly short sighted
Yea agree.

If a stud falls Im also not letting this stop me from drafting a CB at 26.

If you want out for whatever reason (injury, arrest..ect) just PM me. Ill be in Europe from Apr 15 to the 29th, so I might not respond
Hahahahah. Want out for what? Couldn’t care less if I lose this wager. But I can’t lose. DB isn’t in play

People forget he was the best corner in the league just a few years ago. He also has played in a lot of big playoff games. Agree, we are still looking for another corner, but he is a very nice bridge starter and is an upgrade over Brown.
The Cowboys needed a 2nd cornerback to solidify their secondary. Cornerback would have been one of their top two picks if they didn’t trade for Gilmore. The Cowboys might have the best dime defense in football now. They will draft a developmental cornerback similar to Bland and Wright on the 3rd day. Brown might come back I always liked him better as a slot anyway.

I’m not going to let a 1 year rental stop me from getting a CB early this year.

Arguably the strongest position in the taft so great year to get a young stud for cheap.

Gilmore is a very good 1yr starter, but they still have to think about the future as Joseph/Wright are more special teamers at this juncture and neither has developed. Would surprise me if 1 is dealt or doesn't make the final roster. Don't see Brown or even Lewis returning. You can never have enough corners, still remains one of our top needs, but now they don't have to reach to fill the need.

Just allows them to allow the draft to come to them and not make another Joseph reach type of pick. Agree, corner remains a top need. Get the prospect's feet wet in the sub-packages and hopefully he can become the starter in 2024.

You may not but you know the Cowboys will. This is similar to Tyron at left tackle. The Cowboys are betting these two will be healthy and be the starters. Now if one of the top 4 corners drop to 26. They would take the bpa.

CB was absolutely in the discussion for round #1 before this trade. In fact, it was probably the most likely pick.
Based on all of the mock drafts and SIMs I’ve seen, all the first round CBs are expected to be gone before 26. CB in round 1 would be a big reach unless the kid from Maryland slips.

I trust Gilmore more then I trust Tyron and I don’t see anyone clamoring for a guard/tackle in the draft with our first two picks. I don’t see Lewis going anywhere as he is a solid slot cornerback.

Time to cut Lewis and get 5 mil in cap room
Or try to recoup that 5th round pick (or a 6th) in a trade. Lewis is a decent slot CB. But he’s our 4th CB now and is costing us $5M, so I doubt he’s on the roster much longer.
