This was a smart move by the Cowboys.

Diggs, Gilmore, and Bland I like that combo! Lewis would provide good depth if he's back, but he also carries a 5.8 million cap hit. 4.2 million savings if released. Will be an interesting call, but we found out last year that you can’t have enough good corners corners.

Add a couple rookies, give some competition to Joseph and Wright and see what happens!
I think perfect world they draft a rookie corner who can play both inside and outside. This would allow them to move on from Lewis.

People forget he was the best corner in the league just a few years ago. He also has played in a lot of big playoff games. Agree, we are still looking for another corner, but he is a very nice bridge starter and is an upgrade over Brown.
Exactly. If you roll Diggs, SG, Bland and Lewis you are in good shape.

I think Lewis gets replaced with a draft pick, but the secondary definitely was solidified today with Wilson and Gilmore. This allows Bland to now play his best position as at the slot.

I say draft someone to groom and also be playable if one of the top 3 gets injured. Cut Lewis and try and move Joseph and Wright for some late round darts

The 9 CB's they met with at the combine say otherwise.

I dont see how you wouldnt see CB as a major need. Brown is a FA. Lewis is a coming off a season ending injury, mediocre at best, and only signed for one more year. Joseph and Wright are unplayable. Even with Bland and Diggs, CB was a major need. Even trading for Gilmore, it doesn't wipe it away as a 1st round possibility. That would be incredibly short sighted
I didn’t say it wasn’t a major need. It wasn’t going to be the pick at 26 bc the talent in the draft doesn’t match up w the pick. There’s a reason everyone is saying they’re taking a pass catcher

I still think Banks has a shot at being there at 26. If he is, he is definitely in the convo

Remember Muku has shown he can play in the slot if we need him, makes sense to move on from Lewis now. I could definitely see 1 of those corners dealt for a day 3 pick. Special Teams still could use 1 of them.

Per PFF

82 targets
52 receptions
63.4 completion % allowed
585 yards allowed
2TD's allowed
2 INTS
8 PBU
82.6 passer rating allowed
957 outside snaps
12 slot snaps

Looks like Gilmore is still playing at a + starter level. I dont think this move removes CB as a 1st possibility, but it takes alot of pressure off of any CB if he is the pick
No doubt this takes some pressure off the early round draft scenarios.

I think Banks is 50/50 imo
He’s the one that stands out as a chance to be there (I think he’ll be gone) but I’m happy looking elsewhere because it’s unlikely he’d be the best player on my board.

Ok. Side bet. Friendly. He’s on the board and won’t be the pick. They’re going pass catcher. Everybody has known it for a while.
Im willing to make a bet with odds. You have a significantly better chance of winning than I, especially considering I didn't make a definitive statement like "we were" taking him. Just that he was in the convo

If you want to do a straight up bet, then you have to name a player as well
