Some Cowboy Ratings from Game #2

What?! Are we talking about the same player? Free was atrocious at LT. He beasted at RT, then we moved him and he went in the can.

He had a good season at LT. Then he got paid and sat through a lock out and well sucked for a couple years in a row at both LT and RT.

I agree on Poe. I should also say I really like Travis, he will be a good one for us.

Poe is an example of why you draft big, athletic guys.
He is simply a nightmare match up when fully motivated.

TFred will only get better but he is a strength based player who lost a strength battle.
Says a lot for Poe.

But there are lots of players Dallas could use more so ruing is pointless.

Some up to this point highlights and lowlights...
Doug Free is the 7th ranked OT (Tyron is 26th).

Pretty much shows how inaccurate these rankings are right there.

I agree Free is doing WAY better this year, but he's not outplaying Smith.

Actually, yes, he is.
Smith is a better player and plays the harder position but Free has been VERY good.
He is simply handling guys thus far with little to no pressure coming all game from his man.

His one bad play was when he got blown up in weird twist that would eat up most OL.
Smith still struggles a bit with technique and faces dominant guys almost every week.

Selvie,Hatcher,Ware and Church are playing great and those rankings are spot on with those guys. Spencer hurt us quiet a bit by letting Smith break containment on a few 2nd and 3rd and longs. I'd let Selvie play most of the snaps until Spencer gets 100% and gets some practices under his belt. What a good pickup Selvie has been through 2 games. It's really a testament to Rod Marinelli's techniques that the DLine is what we were all worried about and they have been by a long shot the most stout unit on defense.

Do you watch the games?
Selvie has been VERY good. Solid vs run and pass. Clearly we have a 3rd DE now.

Ware had a stinger in the shoulder that slowed him badly last week after a typical dominant week 1.

Anyways the DL is NOT an issue.

PFF isn't perfect but these grades are accurate. A bad game out of two(Frederick) will skew things wildly but it is what it is.
None of these grades fail the eyeball test.

Last week it was scary how easily blockable the LBs looked and how poorly they got dropped into coverage, probably because of Alex Smith running.
That was the biggest shock to me.

I knew Will Allen was a spare and TFred was a rookie and hurt players (Mo/Ware) suffer.

I was asking how selvie can be ranked behind ware and hatcher and be the second raked D player on our team as indicated in the OP and the answer was that selvie was 2nd in the KC game while the chart that has ware ranked ahead of selvie was for both games.

yes I watch the games

gotcha and apologies.
yup ware was a monster game 1 and game 2 was hampered by the shoulder and not very good at all versus the run.

Doug Free is the 7th ranked OT (Tyron is 26th).
Leary is the 46th ranked guard.
Bern is the 63rd ranked guard.
Travis is the 31st ranked center.
Mo is the 93rd ranked CB... just ahead of Nnamdi Asomugha and Cortland Finnegan. Carr is ranked 11th.
Barry Church (yeah that BARRY CHURCH) is the 2nd ranked safety. Will Allen? 61st.

All i can say is

1. Boy am I glad Jerry and jason fixed that horrible OL with this group of world beaters

2. all you guys telling us how Carr and Mo were great CBs and worth the resources spent, were dead on (remember the 'no fly zone'? ahhh.... good days)

Our corners aren't getting beat. The secondary was VERY Good last year. Well the corners were anyway. Sensabaugh and McCray left a lot to be desired last season. But the corners came to play.

Actually, he's not. Free gets help from running backs and TE's considerably more than Smith, who has been on an island almost every snap through two games. While Free looks much better this season, he isn't playing at nearly the level Smith is.
