I love it.

I also think Cooper is a lot smarter than you are.

I shudder to imagine how small a person's mind must be to go out of his way to complain about a player not talking trash. Then to extrapolate it to how good a player is? Priceless.

Read the whole quote, and it's perfectly obvious that Cooper is saying that the Eagles player thought he was out of it, not that he was. The transcription of his words is a little confusing (because we don't always speak precisely), but being able to figure out what he meant is what reading comprehension is all about.
