I'm not putting Barnett into the probowl yet. He has 2.5 sacks on the year. 2 last week. Jim Schwartz utilizes the 0 blitz often and Barnett is a situational pass rusher.
Not saying he is or has been bad...and most of us would swap his speed for Taco's spin move all day..

Not really often. They mostly have rushed with just 4. But yes he is more aggressive than some DCs on occasion.

When they get Darby back in rhythm, he may dial it up some more.

But the Eagles offense is significantly less talented across the board than the Cowboys except for one position.

Guess which one.

Are you saying Garrett/Linehan are not as good of an offensive coordinator as Peterson?

Honestly, I don't remember. You could very well be right.

I'll also say this............ if the OL continues to gel the next few weeks, it's possible that this OL would be better than the one that faced the Eagles last year. Cooper seems to be finding himself and each week you seem to hear less and less about the mistakes Collins is making.
Does no one want to talk about Peters being out? Their o line took a huge blow there in my opinion

Their run D has made life tough on us in recent years. Elliott had 96 yards on 22 carries last year in the one real game we played them. Good, but not great by any stretch.

They will load up to shut him down and make Prescott beat us. Prescott is going to have to make some plays with his feet and his arm to win that first Eagles game IMO. I expect Elliott will have some rough sledding for him in that game. He won't be shut down entirely but I wouldn't count on him easily dropping 100+ on them either.
Had a huge one called back tho

This early in the season, I think it’s better to look at DVOA rather than traditional totals and averages. We only have 2 common opponents so far so it’s a little misleading to assess otherwise.

DVOA Defense:

Philly:
Run Def: 13th
Pass Def: 16th
Total Def: 15th

Dallas:
Run Def: 31st
Pass Def: 20th
Total Def: 25th

DVOA Offense:

Philly:
Pass Off: 7th
Run Off: 3rd
Total Off: 8th

Dallas:
Pass Off: 13th
Run Off: 1st
Total: 5th

Philly has been the better overall team over the first 7 weeks here. But while they're losing players we're gaining them.

If Zeke can play at the meaningful points this season, I don't fear Philly at all.

Nor should you, but you should respect them. I respect the threat of what the Cowboys can bring (on offense mainly).

At the end of the day, no team is without some flaws...whether they be due to injuries, poor drafting, or whatever.

They rank high in run D, but they also have to fewest rushing attempts per game against them....just 17.5 attempts/gm. They have allowed 3.8 ypc.

This is like the cowboys last year. They would get up early and teams would be forced to pass. I believe the eagles are going to come back to reality. They just lost their LT Peters and their LB Hicks. Their secondary is worse than ours. The Cowboys need to only worry about taking care of their own business and everything will fall in place.

Right Tackle. The only guy that would start here.

Yes, I agree. I'd also throw in Ertz. No disrespect to Witten, who is an all-time great and future HoFer. But at this moment in time, I'd give the edge to Ertz.

We are 4th in yards per drive and 2nd in points per drive. The Eagles are 8th in yards per drive and 4th in points per drive.

I think if you look at the Eagles and now the Niners...Chip Kelly's main strength may have been putting together defensive front 7's.

Their defense is really good. I wanted Schwartz when he became available, but knew they wouldn't give up on Marinelli just yet.

We will see how they do without Jordan Hicks. The Skins started to attack them with TE's with success when Hicks went out. I also think teams need to pick up the pace of their offense for a bit and force their D-Line to not be able to substitute so much.

YR
Yeah the hurry up offense is killing the Skins all year. Only problem is if we score to quickly we give the ball back to Skins offense and well or defense.......

Yeah.

No.

They have two very good safeties. We have one decent one. And when Darby comes back, at worst, CBs are a push. Their rookie, Douglas, has been playing well for a rookie as has Lewis. Their 2nd year CB, Mills, is playing slightly better than ours - Brown. And their FA dumpster dive - Patrick Robinson - has dwarfed our dumpster dive - Carroll. Darby and Scandrick are a push, although Darby has bigger upside, way bigger upside.

Just updated -- Dallas is now 2nd in points per drive, 4th in yards, and 3rd in drive success rate, which has a higher correlation with wins than yards does. Philly 4th in points per drive, 8th in yards, 7th in DSR.

Defense: Cowboys move up to 27th in points allowed per drive, also 27th in yards allowed, and 29th in DSR. Eagles 16th in points, 23rd in yards, but 16th in DSR.

that's not true.
their o-line had been playing just as well overall. their WRs have also been similar. and ertz is a way more dangerous pass catcher than witten at this point in time.

Actually, according to Football Outsiders, the Cowboys OL has been performing much better than their OL - 6th compared to 21st.

that's interesting. feel like our line wasn't great until the last 2-3 games.

Yeah, baby. Can't hold the juggernaut down all season. Low-to-mid-20's, here we come. I can feel it.
