Rush is not as good as he was the last time he had to play full time and neither is the team. Back up QB’s should be played more if you want them sharp season after season. If I was a coach my backups would see at least one series per game. Lamb is not that great a WR either. Ceedee has all the physical traits of a good WR but lacks focus and seems unable to get separation and does not sync well with QB’s. We should have paid Amari Cooper who was more well rounded in skill set.

I think Zeke is not fully physically washed, I think he was coached and trained wrong by Garrets crew (just like Dak) and I think Dallas has no clue how to run block. Zeke may also lack focus does not self evaluate and improve.

Overall, Mike McCarthy has failed to instill discipline needed in the team that brings focus to be a playoff contender.

Lastly Jerry’s fetish with having a few 4-6 overpaid stars (Jersey Sellers) with mediocre rest of the team has failed for 30 years now.
Just observations and I am the last guy to pretend to be an expert NFL analyst so I could be way off on my assessment.

The silver lining in all of this is maybe the Cowboys realize they need to go draft a QB higher. Maybe he balls out and much like Dak taking over for Romo, maybe the new guy takes over for Dak.
and maybe Jerry hires a GM — why do most Cowboy fans hold unrealistic hopes???

I mean they found Romo as an undrafted QB who took over for Bledsoe, then they found Dak in the 4th round who took over for Romo. It's not possible they stumble into their next QB like they did the last 2 decades?

Jerry Jones knew that Cooper Rush could only manage to do enough not to lose the Cowboys games, when the defense was holding teams to under 20 points and getting turnovers. And when the running game was solid. And decided to keep Cooper Rush as the back up, without really doing anything to actually improve the defensive side of the ball this offseason. And then completely neglected addressing the run game by trying to bring back Zeke, instead of trading for a more capable RB or at least drafting an RB to try and develop over the next couple of seasons.

It's difficult for even capable QBs to be able to win consistently without a solid running game. But impossible for a team to win with Cooper Rush coming in as the back up when the starter is hurt and to be able to have the offense be effective when the running game is one of the worst in the NFL. The Cowboys predicament this season is on the laziness of the front office refusing to make multiple moves needed to improve this team.

He's exactly the same. Don't get overwhelmed by WL record, it doesn't tell the whole story.

If by wild you mean incredibly stupid, I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You got it! Par for the course though. It amazes me how fans on a discussion board can wrap their heads around things a good year and a half to two years before Jones does.

Rush is trying hard to shoot down that shoddy idea that his 5-1 record previous to this season was an indicator of what he'd be as a starter.

Rush had a lot of empty calories. all those yards didn't lead to score, because as soon as things got tight, Texans played just a bit harder and they stopped him.
he got lucky 6 of his passes didn't get intercepted. luck is not how you win.

Rush is garbage.
Remember when the Cowboys beat Cincy while Rush was throwing balls directly to defenders that got dropped. The board bent over backwards telling us that those didn't matter. And they are correct.. but the only reason they didn't matter was that the defense was smothering teams back then. This defense aint smothered nobody this year. So the offense needs to get it together.. and that's on McCarthy. Rico gave us absolutely zilch on the ground last night and he refused to even allow Zeke to see if he could get going. All this talk about "riding the hot hand" when Zeke was the main guy is now apparently out the window. When Zeke can't get going it's "bring in the other guy.." When the other guys struggles it's "let's keep giving it to him and watching him suck." I am so done with McCarthy it aint even funny.
