The silver lining in all of this is maybe the Cowboys realize they need to go draft a QB higher. Maybe he balls out and much like Dak taking over for Romo, maybe the new guy takes over for Dak.
If we're in the top five of the draft, I believe that you take one if there's one worth taking there because the plan is to not be in that position very often. Of course, it may end up like it did the year we took Elliott first and the only QBs worth taking in the top five were both gone (and one at least has proven to be not worth it).

This has nothing to do with Dak

Has nothing to do with Daks contract

Nothing to do with Dak being good or not

But there was a large segment in here that thought Cooper Rush was a capable nfl qb. Please stop. He’s horrendous. His arm talent grades out as an F-
He looked bad today but the offense is bad. It has been all year. The players aren’t getting coached. This is Jerry’s doing.

Umm. Are you seriously defending Cooper’s play?

This was one of the worst Cowboy QB performances in recent memory.

I feel like I’m on another planet either now with you Rush fanatics.

Oh …. Wait …. Throwing you a lifeline here. Maybe even a Lifeson-line.

Are you talking about one of the top ten classic rock bands of all time?

Please tell me that’s it and you’re not part of the leeblair cult of weirdness Cooper fanatics.

In that case, hell yeah!
It was bad but coaches was worse.

Before that showing, Rush was showing a below average QB that was capable especially if the saved CAP was pumped into the roster.

No, it's the value for your buck that causes many of us to want to move on from Dak.
That performance from Rush still doesn't exonerate Dak in anyway....indeed if highlights how poor the team is, which begs the question ....it doesn't matter what you spend at QB, this team needs rebuilding.

Cooper Rush is a turd.
Dak Prescott is a polished turd.
This thread is meant to prop up a crappy QB against a backup QB.

Well, you just have to be careful who you all put together in the group that thinks that Rush is the answer. There are several people who were not high on Dak but also didn't think that Rush was the answer. Their argument was more along the line that they didn't think the drop off from Dak to Rush was so big that they would rather use him as a stopgap instead of sign Dak to an insane amount of money. This game doesn't exactly prove that the gap between Dak and Rush was that great, but me myself I think Dak abilities are less than what they were a year ago. He looks old and slow to me, and I don't expect him to look like he did in his heyday once he recovers from his hamstring injury. You expect him to not look slow next year once he recovers from his hamstring tare? Like I said, I think we need to start drafting at QB, not just for starting but also for backup.
We need more help than at QB. That is the problem some on the board just don't want to realize. Been that way for a while....people on just Dak like their Fantasy Football numbers are in shambles.

He's 5-2 and had an off day yesterday he looked horrible.
He cost 2 million and is a backup QB.
I can see him having better games in the near future but of course is NOT the answer for us at QB.
Neither is 60 LEMON PRESCOTT or poor Lance who simply doesn't have what it takes to play in the NFL.
Conclusion: The Dallas Cowboys Need to go QB shopping and bite the bullet on the Gimps contract and move on ASAP!

I thought the team itself would play harder for Rush than Prescott. And I was right! The defense fought their guts out. Where I was wrong was thinking because of that Rush was serviceable. He is awful. Like Dak he has regressed also. Rush shouldn't be on an NFL roster. Dak should be a backup and this team is lacking an NFL QB capable of reading a defense quickly and making all the throws required of the QB position.

QB shopping was always the answer! I argued at length as to why people were so darn scared to go qb shopping all offseason

Paying someone more money does not make them a better player the following year. Paying someone after their peak od their career, their best year ever, that they are most likely not able to duplicate does not make sense to me.

You are basically paying them for their past performance. Jerry seems to get caught doing this frequently.

Who knows maybe Todd France has a clause where only the DAK PRESCOTT credit card can be used for QB purchases??? :muttley:
With this inept F/O anything is possible..........P.S. Why does Will McClay carry in that bag when he follows Jerry around?
Must be Jerry Meds and his bottle of Johnnie Blue or his Playbook to call in the plays from his box???:muttley:
