An owner with final say is not new.

A owner's child in an executive position is not new.

An executive in charge of the scouts, in constant communication with the coaching staff, and under an owner who is final say is nothing new.

McClay is not called general manager and the owner is but that is really window dressing. Lurie, the Maras, Snyder before he got canned, and many other clubs have the same arrangement presented above but without the window dressing.

I also see very few discussions of how they lead to this insurmountable obstacle. The 500 lbs Gorrilla in the room is that Jerry has won multiple Super Bowls. The already specious reasoning becomes blatantly absurd.

Jerry has his problems but he contributes as well. He is not going anywhere so I see no point to whining about it much less to start doomcasting because of it.

Anyone who defends, or tries to anyway, these two after 28 years of futility and not more than a Wild card win is beyond help themselves. I mean, how many more years are needed before you get it through your head that these two are actually not qualified to build or manage any team. If a GM and a Player of Personnel of any other team had this kind of record, you would be calling for their heads to roll. But for some reason, you put up with Beavis and Butthead.

yeah, sure nothing can be done about it...but doesn't mean we aren't gonna call them out on it. Some of us still do demand accountability and performance of the FO, regardless of who it is. Guess you're exactly what Jerry wants from a fan, blind faith...and i really mean blind.

Hire this coach! Sign this free agent! Draft this guy! It's not about a guy here or there with this team, it starts at the top. It's a dysfunctional organization.

They aren't going to suddenly figure it out, they aren't going to quit while the money still rolls in, so accept 12-5. It's as good as it is going to get. Enjoy.
Ok. so we win12 games in three consecutive seasons. We lose 2 home play-off games, there's a distinct argument to support the idea that buying a lottery ticket of good enough to get the play-off is a decent enough strategy ......then its on the coaching/players.

Look at last season, now the only real deliberation comes down to whether we traded for Henry..... in hindsight im sure the majority of fans are going to say 'yes, it would of been worth it'......but that's a stretch to say whether he would of overturned that first half vrs GB and then we go into next season with no 1st Rd Pick/

We should get a 'independent' GM who's job's on the line, by the decision he makes.....but it's as easy to blame EVERYTHING at the Jones' door.

when the idiot took a noob qb coach and made him the OC before he hired an HC, then moved him to head coach and killed the team for 10, you know he's using the team as his toy.

so don't make fun of the QB because he's a choker, anybody on defense or the offense line, just follow blindly and have "hope"
you guys in here wanting to have a real discussion about crap you can't change is funny as crap. I'll have to use your guy's favorite word on this crap. "don't be obtuse"

who is Jerry looking at in the draft? Are any hurt guys, or killers in the draft? lmao......

Jerry and Stephen Jones are unique. No other NFL team has the owner as GM and his son as Director of Player Personnel. This has been the arrangement in Dallas for 28 years. They have won four wild card games. That's it. That's all they have to show for it. They've fired more head coaches than playoff wins in that time.

Take a good hard look. These are the masterminds you're counting on after 28 years of trying. If you weren't a Cowboys fan, you'd laugh at them. They're a joke.

Respectful daily reminder my friends, its all about the bottom line $$$$ with the JJ's. Winning the SB might happen by accident.

Got it as in "I did get it"
From reading and learning on here by 2009.

Problem is how long do you remain a negative or realist poster on this forum when you do get it.

Being in one of those two poster categories does not provide a positive input. And having been in the realist posting camp, my posting outlook must read as terrible.

So now i sit on the fence and hope JJ can win a SB.
I said this after the bills loss.
However doomcasting posts ain't coming from me or are the most enjoyable way to particupate on this forum.

Rockport opened a hope thread that was doomed as soon as it started, but hope is all we have got and its positive......more of those threads to lighten the mood pls.

I think that Jerry would sell both of his kidneys for one more championship. I'm not entirely certain that Stephen cares at all.
He would sell them to do it his way. If he really wanted it then he would put the best of the best staff in place. If coaches around the NFL knew for sure that he was stepping back and watching the games from his sky box and just being a fan and cheer leader then coaches would jump at the chance to take the job and showcase there talents in front of the world. Dallas Cowboys are the most watched team. Players want to come here to get paid and let other teams see their talent.
