Honestly, NY should be horrified that we played such a horrible game and we were still in position to win with :04 on the clock.

It's better to get these mistakes and awful performances out of the war early so we can identify the problems and overcome then on our second meeting. Better to get this over with NOW, isntead of at the end of the year, which has usually been this team's problem.

If Tony Romo had played bus driver and we ran and threw dumpoffs all-day, it would have been a blow out. When NY looks at the tape, they'll know that. And you can bet they know that it wont happen again. Not twice in a season.

Yes but 3 of them were killers.

Flo tripping, holding on Barbie on the third down, and Newman's PI

The tripping was the biggie... IIRC, we stopped them on the drive after the Barbie hold and Newman PI. Newman was livid on the sideline.

Hell yeah! Don't get me wrong, last night SUCKED! Big time! But I'm ready to see them again. GO COWBOYS :star:

The Giants had some lucky bounces last night. So have we in previous games so we can not blame the loss on bad luck but it certainly does not make it any easier to swallow.

- INT that bounced off Witten's shoe?
- NYG TD bounced off the player as he was going to the ground and he still caught it?
- The NYG game winning drive on a crucial 3rd down, Ratliff gets his hand on the ball and it somehow wobbles to the intended receiver to convert?

If Ratliff doesn't get his hand on the ball for that play, that ball is thrown 10 yards behind the receiver.

It seemed like every penalty extended a drive (or series).

Also, that tripping penalty on Flo was a cheap shot and seriously injured Osi (or whomever that was). If Ware was injured similarly by one of their OL-men, we'd be screaming bloody murder.

What a frustrating game.

That penalty was big as it negated a long pass completion. I think that it was during that same series that they got the lucky deflection off Witten's shoe. I would attribute the loss to a combination of a few bad plays and a few bad breaks.

If nothing else we can always blame Bush, since he was in the audience...:D

I'll give you another positive from last night:

5 times the Giants were inside our 20 and had to settle for FG attempts.

Both of their offensive TDs were from 22 yards out, but everytime they were in the redzone we stopped them and they had to settle for FGs.

On our side, we scored a TD all 4 times we were inside their 20. Our FG was from their 29.

That's what hurts so much about losing this one. Except for a few bad plays they looked pretty good most of the night. The biggest ??? I have was the long interception. Romo way overthrew the receiver. I don't know if the receiver ran the wrong route or if Romo just threw a really bad pass. It was ugly, whatever the reason.

Yeah, that one was a real head-scratcher, don't know what Romo saw on that play or what he was thinking.

Came up with another positive though:

On nearly every big run of the night by our RBs I saw Roy Williams downfield blocking for them. I always used to say that for a RB to break off big runs he needs WRs that will block downfield for him. We saw that last night from Roy.

I was also encouraged by the fact Dallas had 4 penalties on the night. As a team they are showing better disapline.

I'ts just too bad that the penalties always seem to happen at the worst possible times.:bang2:

yes but my FF team regrets that one of those penalties was on Flozell and that it nullified a 36yd gain by Crayton LOL

Yep kudos to Roy. I noticed him doing some good blocking too. Also noticed some good inside running by TC. I thought the play where Ratliff immediately ran over in the flat and made the tackle was outstanding. I've never seen a nose tackle make that kind of play. It was a real demonstration of his speed. Barber made some really great cuts last night. I can't remember seeing him look that agile. Usually he just plows over the defenders.

Overall I still think we have a good football team and I'm not ready to give up on the season or Romo. I think Tony wants to win and he'll be back.

Yep, Romo has had crappy games before and has come back with stellar ones. I'm not concerned about him too much.

Another thing I haven't seen talked about that was positive. Igor Olshanky is a complete beast against the run.

Postives:

-- Run D was good to great at times. I was really afraid the NYG would steamroll us like they did Baltimore last year... Especially after the way Tampa ran on us.

-- Run O was great, too. Felix, Barber, and the OL really delivered.

-- Special teams coverage is still incredibly improved over last year.

-- The Giants were NFC favorites of a lot of people while we were picked 3rd in our division, and even with a bad game and bad bounces, it took a FG in the closing seconds to beat us.

-- TO isn't here.

We can talk about positives all day and yes there were some. Bottom line and where I'm at right now is that it's like death and taxes..

Flo will do something stupid and Turnover Tony will break your heart everytime.. he'll throw an inexplicable int as if he has no clue whatsoever that throwing the ball up to a safety waiting like a punt returner isn't ok. This pretty much wipes out all positives

great post!

I still believe the Cowboys will be in the thick of it this season.

Remember this is only the second game, we still have 14 more to go.

Offense has put up 65 points in two games. WOW.
