Some quick post-combine thoughts!

Yeah take two backs in the later rounds but put draft picks at the running back position. I agree with that take. I don’t want to overpay Dowdle.

Where would Johnathan Brooks be in this draft?

Probably not even in the first four rounds. But I thought Brooks was a reach in the second anyway, given his blown knee.

Trey Benson might be a fairer comp, and I'd probably have him as the 4th or 5th RB in this class. His Post-It note resume was "committee back with a nice YPC average, 216 lbs, 4.39 40, decent hands". That sounds a lot like the Ohio State duo this year. Maybe a tad below them, cause those guys are both studs.

Crazy that they dealt that 4th away, will be great rb depth there, probably not in the 5th
There is like 10 running backs that could develop into pro ball types. Trade with Miami, Cincinnati,Arizona, ect and get that 4th rounder back. Then still get the player you want. I think you can get Ollie Gordon in the 5th. I think he will end up being a solid back.

Graham, Johnson, and Tet look like victims of prospect fatigue. They've all put in 2 seasons of elite play, they've been touted as top 10 kinds of players for a full year now, and they didn't test at the Combine to offer anyone any new information. So guys like Matthew Golden get to steal their attention away from them.

Between his sophomore and junior years, Tet freaking averaged 108 yards a game, over 25 games. He's a stud. Don't overthink it.

I wasn't on board the Tet train when he was getting top 3 talk, but him falling the teens is just craziness.
I agree to an extent but I think the size / length / speed concerns around them is legit.

Not a ton but maybe instead of being top 5ish picks they’re top 15ish which is great for us as there will be a very good chance 1 of them is there at 12.

The arm length for Johnson isn’t a big deal for me I’m more interested in the injury. If it’s clear he’s an elite zone CB prospect and that’s where we’re headed.

It's sounding like the qb run is going to happen in the 2nd round. Sanders is dropping and the field is rising. Jaxson Dart could go before Sanders. People are high on Dart, Tyler Shough, and Quinn Ewers. The Raiders could take Will Howard in the 2nd. Milroe is also in the mix. A qb run in the early 2nd could very well drop a running back or dtackle to the Cowboys at 44.

The more I think about it, it might be a good idea to take an olineman at 12 or trade back, and see what falls to us at 44.

Golden haa separated himself from Tet McMillan I think. He's 1A then Tet is 1B.
You can throw the ball to Tet McMillan when he is covered and he still will catch the ball like the defenders aren't even there. They don't bother him at all. Even against Travis Hunter.

Dak has always worked better with strong route runners and did have his struggles with an older Dez at the position. You would think T-Mac will struggle in getting separation, which may make him a bad fit with our QB. I also would like to see what Ebuk runs at his pro day.
Tet McMillan doesn't need separation. He is a great fit for Dak. Just throw him the ball. Defensive backs are too small to stop him. McMillan is at least 6ft 4.

That’s the thing, will Dak throw into coverage? It took Kurt Warner some time to adjust to Bolden lack of separation

They benefit from other teams misevaluating players. Letting really solid players fall in their laps & they are more than happy to scoop them up.

If the Ravens take a player that surprises me, I automatically question my thoughts about the player. They don't many mistakes & they know what they want the player to do. Players work for them that wouldn't work out for a lot of teams.
So true
