am i dreaming... ?

from www.profootballtalk.com (fantasy mill)

Romo is Burning
It has become abundantly clear that Tony Romo is a budding superstar. He's looked very good in every start, and is gaining obvious confidence with every series. For the rest of this year, you can start Romo in every game because he doesn't have a single "stopper" defense remaining. Looking ahead to 2007 for keeper leaguers, since he's young, you'll want to give him serious consideration for one of your keeper slots. With a solid receiver corps, he could be a top-five quarterback within a year or two. Just think, if T.O. actually held on to the ball, he could be really good.

sorry, but i feel like i am dreaming right now. (a GREAT dream!)

when Romo went in for Drew, i was REALLY excited b/c i felt like we have been on this Quincy/Vinny/Drew, etc carousel for FAR too long... and those guys were not taking us anywhere. regardless of what people say, it is my belief that you need way more than a "bus driver" to have success in this league.

my expectations of Romo were very tempered, and thought as long as this kid can just show me a little improvement from week to week, i could live with his mistakes.

3 weeks and 3 road games later i am straight up SHOCKED at how well he has handled this whole thing. I mean, this is NOT supposed to be happening. Certainly not to an UFA who was never expected to be more than a clipboard holder.

what exactly is going on here? and if this kid is as good as he has played so far, WHAT IN THE WORLD was Tuna doing leaving him on the bench??? (other than maybe doing a favor to "his guy" Bledsoe?)

if his path continues, and he continues to flourish with minimal mistakes then it certainly appears that we finally have struck GOLD in an area that we has eluded us for the past 10 years... :bang2:

can i get an amen?

it's still very early yet, but let's hope and pray this kid is the real deal and he keeps his wits about him and doesn't get too far ahead of himself. (aka - eat the cheese)

i can only imagine if he is somehow able to lead us to a win this weekend and hands the vaunted "Manning" and crew their 1st Loss this weekend that the national hype machine will officially be turned up to a blazing level unseen since the early days of Troy's tenure.

we can only hope... but regardless of this weekend's outlook, it appears that we are now much, much closer to the promised land for years to come. :D

:starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin

There's GOLD in them there hills, I tell ya!!

LOL, sorry, all that was going through my mind while reading this post.

I have to admit it is very hard to not eat the cheese with Romo!

Yeah me too... but BP pointed out some passes he shouldnt have made because they were chance-y... low percentage and could have cost us... its inevitable that he will have a game or two like that....

Romo WILL have bad games like all players. Just don't fall apart when he does. We are just happy to have him and can maybe get over the "we should have signed Delomme" chant."

OMG!! Don't tell me Parcells actually knew what he was doing in picking this kid?! Nah, couldn't be.

(Anyone catch the story the announcers told about how they found Romo? At the combine, the "vaunted" QBs were invited to strut their stuff. However, they needed a few "arms" just to throw the balls back--Romo was one of those. Parcells noticed him, plus Payton mentioned him, & Parcells decided to take him once the draft was over. They quoted Romo as saying "Once he (Parcells) got me on the phone, he wouldn't let me hang up until I said yes.")

I'm trying to think who the invited QBs would have been. Would that have been the Rivers/Manning/Roethlisberger class or the year before that one? If it was the year before, who would those QBs have been?

the one thing i have notcied about this guy is that he's alway's smiling , he's just having fun out there . which i know is going to piss off the fans of teams we beat down the rest of the year

Yeah, and Aikman never made any mistakes so I guess we need to temper our excitement.

I'm not saying Romo has arrived. Nor that he will never make mistakes. But what QB CAN make those statements. And I'm sure there will still be growing pains.

But I think much of this excitement is not just over what he's done thus far but also over what that can become for the future. I think its totally ok to get excited about that.

2003 draft class, which included Palmer, Boller, Leftwich, Grossman, Seneca Wallace, Kingsbury, Bollinger, Ken Dorsey, Drew Henson, and a few others.

Agree 100%. The thing is that at least he (Romo) recognized the fact that his passes were risky. Lots of young QBs are shell-shocked when they step on the field. Like Leinart yesterday.

This fantasy league stuff is crazy, (I'm in two..LOL). I have Romo starting in one of my leagues and he's won me three matchups thus far, I'm expecting him to play pretty solid against the Colts as well...
