Something about Leary

Its not mutually exclusive. Free has played well this year but he is still the weakest link on the OL. He isn't as good as some think because he has two Pro Bowlers next to him and scheme help like X is pointing out.

And saying that doesn't mean Parnell is better than Free. But Parnell has more upside and at one third of the salary, may very well be the starter next year if Free wants a pay raise next season.

Who are the pro bowlers? Nobody has made the PB yet. Also Free was pretty good last year as well. I get some have an axe to grind but Free has been damn good this year and I haven't heard a single coach player or scout confirm these claims of Free always getting help. If it has I stand corrected. But I think you can pick out pretty much any play without knowing the call and say see so and so is getting help. Sorry not buying that Parnell is a better player or option at a 1/3 of the price. We have no idea what/if Frees new cap hit will be after they restructure him if that's what they decide to do. But I'm not sure about others but it's tiring to see the weekly slight of hand towards free for no real reason but to make a case for your pet cat.

You are cherry picking plays. What are the line calls? You don't think this happens with other players on the line? If you know the line calls you have merit but you don't so all the Free crap you push is baseless and tired, sorry X I like you but you're going overboard. You started a thread about Leary only to bang on Free.

No, I'm really not cherry picking. It's rare to find snaps where Tyron is getting the help or tight spacing that Free is getting. Is is possible that I exaggerate the issue? Possibly, but I'm certain that it is happening to some extent.

If it was just reacting to the defense, then you would expect a reasonable distribution of snaps where the spacing it tight to RT vs when it's tight to LT, but it's nowhere close to evenly distributed.

This post was not really Free vs Parnell because they helped Parnell when he played also. This thread is about how they make it harder on Leary and Tyron in order to help the RT. People will look at things like PFF ratings and say that Free was good and Leary and Tyron were not that good, but PFF is not taking into account that the scheme is helping the RT at the expense of the LG and LT.

It's just information with images to support it. I didn't fake the images. If people don't want to believe it, then they don't have to believe it. It is like PFF ratings. They are available and some people believe them and some people don't.

The same people that criticize the play calling, routes and defense suddenly proclaim that you can only judge the OLinemen if you know the Line calls.

You don't say? You mean a premier left tackle isn't getting the same help that a middle of the pack RT is getting? Mind blown.

They don't give Smith help because he was a top pick that got paid 100 mill to play left tackle. If I'm hedging bets I shouldn't have to help possibly my best player not named Dez on offense.

I really should read what you write before I reply lol. We are thinking along the same lines here Bob lol

This point is that if Free was as good as some are claiming (at a salary of 3.5MM) he wouldn't be getting any help at all.

I don't disagree with that. They should make the most of having a player like Tyron. The issue is that if Tyron gives up a sack and Free does not give up a sack then people start saying that Free is playing better than Tyron. I'm just pointing out that Tyron's job is more difficult not only because he is playing LT, but also because they shift the load onto him within the context of the OL scheme.

I don't know the reason for the smart arse reply. It's not as if I'm complaining about the OL coaching or scheme. I think shifting the load to Tyron is terrific coaching. I'm just pointing out reasons why Tyron and Leary might struggle on occasion when most discussions after the loss to the Eagles center around who is to blame.

They dont roll help to Tyron because the guy is very athletic and can handle it thats why hes being paid 100mil. But all 32 teams and probably all college teams help the RT because typically the RT is stronger and slower. Its not just the Cowboys.

But the difference there is that Doug Free is the highest paid RT in the NFL. He shouldn't need as much help rolled his way if he was as good as some here are claiming.

They dont roll help to Free that much this yr. Most of the time the blocking assignments are adjusted because idk if you notice teams usually overload the right side against dallas. Free is probably one of the better RTs in football this yr. So his salary is justified with his play.

Yes, that's why I stated that they helped both Free and Parnell. This thread was about how Leary's and Tyron's jobs are more difficult because of the scheme. It was not a thread about Parnell vs Free. It's actually excellent coaching in how they managed to help Free because this was not happening back in 2012 and earlier when Free was struggling.

I disagree, and I think the team will move on from him this offseason.

Does that have anything to do with me saying that Free was a better player than Parnell? In the post you replied to?

I don't really understand why people are so protective of Free. It seems to make people angry when Free gets criticized.
