I wasn't really addressing the sb part, moreso the part where you said we are moving on from Romo this year. Zero chance that happens unless he makes the decision himself to retire

I know you were not "addressing" that part. I was...
But seriously, if all he is going to do is "survive" a "partial" season... To what end... What's the point?

Zero chance? YOU KNOW that's not realistic.
He literally has at best a 50-50 of playing all games or most of season.

We are not moving on from Romo this season bro. Its just not happening this is still his team as long as he can play at a high level. Now if he were to come back again next season and get hurt again I could see a shifting of the guard. He still has a leg to stand on currently though

Thank you for the brotherhood.

He won't last the season.
He probably breaks clavicle/collarbone again.

That, or Dak is a dark wizard that causes the starter to get hurt (see MS State).
I was thinking voodoo last week, because moore breaking his ankle was odd, and now tony fracture in his spine.
Then I read it happened in college and HS !
You dont want to be in daks way ! Or he makes a doll and boom your done.
JG and Jones boys better be nice to him or else lol

all we can hope for is that tony comes back and plays at a high level I still think this team struggles with this defense and coaching staff without him I so wanted him and witten to win a superbowl but it takes ateam to win a championship and I just don't know that they have that.

And high school before that. He has become the starter now in all 3 areas of football through injury to the starter. It is strange and I think the dark wizard is the best explanation.

Sometimes the truth is harsh. Hopefully Romo can return this season, but it's time to start *thinking* about moving on. I want Romo and Written to hoist that Lombardi badly; I will cry like a little school girl.
I already did that when he got injured again.

the tone was harsh but I understand the message.
Tony deserves and will get more time

When I look back at all of the circumstances that has lead us to this point where we have a rookie QB starting the season for us it just seems destined. I was at our weekly men's bible study last night, and as we were dispersing the "can Dak do it" conversation came up. I begin to tally the circumstances that lead to the present situation and concluded it is destined that he succeeds. The organization attempted not once but twice to draft a QB before him, yet here he is. The team was content on making him the third string QB this season, that is until the second string QB unfortunately was lost to a season ending injury. This mishap propelled Dak into the second string role giving him the opportunity to get first team reps in practice and preseason game action, invaluable. Now here he is with the ultimate opportunity to start at QB for the first few games. This isn't a he is going to replace Romo thread, I'm still holding hope that Romo returns and lead this team to a Super Bowl before he rides into the sunset, yet I can't help but consider the circumstances that have placed Dak in the situation he is in and think to myself we may be in for something good.
It has been said there is no substitute for experience, and in most walks of life that is true. But football is not like most walks of life. In football experience is the substitute for physical ability; it's the trade off that QB's get to continue to compete. But make no mistake, Dak's ability to both run with the football and distribute it effectively is going to be a huge threat for the Cowboys minus Romo. Don't get me wrong; I hate it for him. But this is a young man's game...and experience will only keep Romo behind center for so long before he cannot physically do it anymore. Based on what we have seen that time is around the corner.

Time for my opinion.

I thought it was time for Romo to hang it up last year. I wasn't a big fan of his up until the last few years when he matured and turned into a top level QB. It sucked when he went down in the SF game but I was so impressed with him when he lobbied to go back in and did. He's fought through so many injuries and amazed me at his ability to pay injured / hurt so I was pulling for him to make a deep run into the playoffs / (hopefully) Superbowl this year and call it quits especially when Dak has show such a positive upside in preseason.

All of that said I think Romo, as much as it will hurt him and all of us, to call it quits and retire before he sustains an injury that could not only end his career but his quality of life. Will Dak lead us to the promised land? Probably not. But there's an upside to him that I'd love to see develop. I just hope he doesn't take more than a year to do it. In fact I truly hope that he does so that Romo and Witten get the rings they deserve even if that won't necessarily put Romo in the HOF.

Anybody besides me see a comparison between Any Given Sunday and the Cowboys of this year? Aging and injury riddled older QB being replaced by a new young stud?

Just an aside. I took a quick look at the Rams and Dolphins game to take a long hard look at Daks footwork and eyes. In the Rams game I thought he was zeroed in way too much on his first read. Against the fins it looked like he looked more to his second and, at times, his third. While I'm not going to start ankle humping the season I think we may have something really special here but, on both sides of the ball, I think we're an injury away from it turning into a disaster.
