Something Weird Going On With ET

I think it is simply that his demands are too high given his age and coming off a leg injury. Teams want more of a sure thing and certainly don't want to pay for risk like that.

So he sits and waits. Eventually, some team, after the dust settles will make him a one or two year deal with a decent amount of money like $12MM per that he'll take while we sit on our thumbs thinking that our 3 years, $26MM contract will get accepted by him.
Nothing to do with giving his team the middle finger...... I'm sure.

On national TV.......llike they broke his old *** leg.

Virtually every really good safety has signed but him.

Only two teams left that need a safety, Dallas and SF. However, reports are SF has not contacted or spoken to ET or his representatives. Teams are avoiding ET like he has the plague. Only three logical explanations.

1. ET has such crazy money demands nobody is even bothering, but reports are he wants $14 a year which is not that much more than what some others got.

2. ET injury history is scaring teams off. This doesn’t really jive since his injuries were bone breaks and not soft tissue. There should be no increased risk involved since broken bones actually get stronger when they heal.

3. He has the parameters of a deal in place with Dallas already and he is shopping it around. Teams know any offer they make he will just take back to Dallas to match so they are just not bothering. Teams are not stupid and don’t like be played with.

I think number 3 is the most realistic scenario right now in all honesty. Makes the most sense.
broken bones do not get stronger than they were before breaking. a commom misconception. more likely a combination of #1 and #2.

Teams want young and healthy. 2 things ET is not. 2 season ending injuries in 2 years should scare any team. You have to offset that risk somehow and when he drops his asking price some team will jump on it.

I’m confused because teams have spent more money on lesser players. This reads as everyone knows his intentions are to go to the Cowboys so they aren’t wasting time on him.
Yes let's not sign ET because he wants to be a cowboy.

Jeff Heath is a football player. You need 75% of your team with guys like him. We only need a few money Players. The Patriots have been great for so long because they're loaded with football players. When a player wants that big contract it's see you later

Heath is a decent player that shouldn't be starting. That's the problem.

There's a difference, the Patriots are loaded with good football players, while Jeff Heath is merely a football player. Heath would barely make that team, and he certainly wouldn't be a starter. There's the problem.

I agree Woods should be starting. But you need football players on your team that's the point. Everybody wants to sign almost every free agent that comes across the board. And that's not how you win

....we're not signing any FA's. It's not that we want all of them, but we want a piece of the pie every once in a while.

EXACTLY. We been lacking that stud in the middle that requires doubles...so then we rely on stunts, bltizes, and our guys on the edge winning the 1 on 1. Its stupid.

Not to mention teams have figured us out like a simple dance routine. We step here, then we step there, and the we step here again.

And that's how and why the Rams crushed us in the playoffs.

Now we just hope that Old Man River figured out all of his tells and got rid of them.

an incentive laden deal for 2 years that has potential to pay him what he wants, I do that all day. No guaranteed money.

We're loaded with good football players also. Jeff Heat. Would do really well there as a situational player. If there's not a penalty on the play he intercepts Aaron Rodgers game over. Yeah we're going to pay Byron Jones money and he didn't make the play.

The Rams crushed Us in the running game during the playoffs because Men playing against boys. We are two small on the d-line. It wasn't because of the scheme

Actually, according to a couple orthopedists I know, the actual joint or break point can get stronger if the healing and bone growth goes well. I'm not a
doctor, just what I've been told.

There are several ways to get this deal done that i'd take. a 2-3 year deal shouldn't be hard to do. I doubt hes a pro bowl guy next year but if he can stay healthy then the 2nd year he will be and would be worth the big bucks if that happens.

High demands for a player another year older and broke the same leg twice. He has already moved to Texas. Likely if we won’t come up on the price then he just retires.

I've been saying we need a defensive tackle for over three seasons now if you can't push the Center back into the quarterback's face so we can't step up your Edge Rush can't get there. No they don't want the big ugly. If you want to think the Rams beat us because they had our Playbook go ahead. It was Men playing against boys that's why they ran through us no other reason
