Sonny Styles a must get

I would be happy with either Downs/Rodriguez or Styles/Thieneman. Sign me up. I do think there is a better chance of Downs and Rodriguez happening.

I could pinpoint at least three teams already in the top ten that would feel the same way.

Dan Quinn is going to love him.

I’m a big fan of Styles, but he’s probably the 3rd best player on that D, and potentially 4th.

i should probably say Styles / Thieneman bc it is better value but Downs is my #1 player so I have to take him

He will not drop to 12….i think Bain is the only defensive player worth a top 12 pick that may actually fall to us

2. Downs and Rodriguez
I like Styles a lot but I would take this instead. 2 of the most instinctual players in the draft. Take Rodriguez in a trade down hopefully adding a next year 1st where the draft will be even better

Did you watch him in the Cotton Bowl?

He looked a day late and a dollar short.. vs Miami...
His instincts for LB just aren’t fully developed yet, and his physicality isn’t quite what you like to see.

He got flat run over by Miami’s RB too. He didn’t play like a blue chip prospect.

He has fantastic athleticism, he’s a very smart guy, and by all accounts he’s the right kind of guy… so he is a good prospect for sure.

However, will his instincts ever fully develop for LB? Maybe.

As far as his physicality, I don’t ever see him being just a real violent player. That is sort of like they either have it or they don’t. It doesn’t really develop. I’m sure he can have a big hit here or there… but I don’t think he will ever just play the game with violence. He’s more finesse. Good in coverage.

I like him but I don’t like him in a move up into the top 10 kind of way. At 12, if the others are gone, I’d probably take him there, but I like a few defenders a good bit more than him.

Just my two cents on Styles.

If I don’t take team need or positional value into consideration, then I’d take:

Downs
Reese
McDonald
Styles

In that Order.

He is the best football player on the board. Period. Freak athlete with high football IQ. If he drops past the Giants at five. Jerry needs to make the call. Trade with Cleveland. 12 and 20 and a fifth For 6 and 39. Do it Jerry. If we stay at 12, we will be wiped out of all the round 1 graded defensive players.
Freak athlete for sure. But his production didn't match his athleticism.according to some. He is also a.MLB, and an off ball LB which is less valued than OLB in the NFL.

I do t think he goes top 5. But top 10 probably. He may drop to 12 and at that spot he is worth the pick. Remember parsons was a freak too with the 4.4 speed and he played outside and he slid down

Yea pretty good assessment.

Devin Lloyd is my comp.

Funny how some are judging Styles off of the playoff game against Miami in which he played well but missed his only tackle of the season. Then some say he doesn’t have instincts. I would love to know how you guys came up with that assessment. If you pay attention the to the NFL the league is turning into flag football. You need big athletic linebackers that can tackle, cover, rush the passer, and be versatile. Styles is literally one of a kind. The last thing I want is for this kid to end up in New York or Washington.

In his defense his tape against Indiana was elite elite.
