Slaton's on the light-weight side too.

But at 5'9" I don't think I would want him any heavier - that is pretty stout.

So he is the same height as Steve Smith (panthers) but about 15 pounds lighter.

Steve Smith is huge, especially in his lower body. He may be light in weight, but he is compact. Remember when he showed off his calf muscles at the Pro Bowl a few years ago? They looked like most peoples biceps.

And here I was thinking that I was the only one who liked Manningham.

I'm with ya on him...I'm not sure why some are down...he had a couple big drops, but when I watched him he looked like a big time playmaker. I'd be happy with him.

I think he's good value at rd2.

Right now I think he's a bit one dimensional. Not sure if he'll be willing to go over the middle and I'm not sure how his route running abilities are.

If 6' @ 185lbs is legit, I think that's a huge plus b/c I've always figured those numbers to be a bit inflated and wondered if he'd be able to handle the much more physical corner play in the nfl.

NFL | D. Jackson measures in at NFL Combine
Fri, 22 Feb 2008 09:00:29 -0800

During his press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine Friday, Feb. 22, California WR DeSean Jackson said he measured 5-foot-9 and weighed in at 169 pounds.

Is this official or just what he said?

Wow. He'll drop like a rock.

More like a feather.

I don't know about this guy even in the second. I like return guys and they can be huge difference makers for a team, but I don't see the reason to draft one early. Devon Hester is the exception and happens to play on a team that has very good special teams players, coaches, schemes and executes very well. He is a good return man that is also in an ideal situation in Chicago as far as special teams. I don't think Dallas is that good at their special teams.

McFadden stiff arms Hashmarks

February 22, 2008 4:00 PM

I was standing in the middle of the hall doing a radio interview a few minutes ago when someone delivered an elbow to my back. Turns out it was Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, who wasn't watching where he was going while answering questions from a TV reporter. I decided to let it go this time. I didn't hear McFadden say what his weight was, but there's no way he's under 230 pounds right now.

He drew the largest crowd of the day during his interview session. A reporter shouted, "Are you the best player in the draft?" to begin the news conference.

"I feel like I'm the best player in the draft," said McFadden.

He also announced that he'll be running at the combine. He said he'll participate in a portion of the other drills, too. McFadden was asked repeatedly about his off-field scrapes, and he delivered the same response every time.

"I put myself in a bad situation," he said. "I take full responsibility."

McFadden said he was inspired by the season that running back Adrian Peterson had in Minnesota.

"I can have the same type season he had," McFaddens said of Peterson.

The session ended with McFadden being asked about reports that he'd taken at least one paternity test recently.

"They wanted me to take another one," he said as he exited the stage.

It's always good to end on a high note. OK, meet me over at SportsNation for a chat now.

Apparently he is tough guy (Mosley, for saying he let it go...this time).

Agreed. I'm not really concerned about his height (he's not a "jump ball" type WR anyway), but only 170 lbs? I know Marvin Harrison is only about 185, but players like Harrison are the exception, not the rule.

Harrison being light may also be a reason why he disappears in the post season.

Marvin Harrison regular season
175 games
5.95 receptions per game
79.68 receiving yards per game 3rd all time
0.70 receiving TDs per game

Marvin Harrison playoffs
15 games
4.13 receptions per game
57.47 receiving yards per game
0.13 receiving TDs per game

And the bigger the playoff game, the less the results:

Marvin Harrison in two AFC Conference Championship games and 1 Superbowl
3 games
4.00 receptions per game
39.67 receiving yards per game
0.00 receiving TDs per game
