Jay Ratliff in 2012 - More personal fouls than sacks and lots of rest along with threatening 70-yr old owner
Jay Ratliff in 2013 - DUI and pulled hamstring during conditioning test and lots of rest
Jay Ratliff in 2014 - Some other team's problem. Finally!:)

I can't wait to have the mutli-probowl player we were able to find in the 7th round off our roster, too. Finally, right?

Yeah, Ratliff hasn't done jack on the field recently except get injured and make a jackass out of himself off the field. So, yeah FINALLY! He should have never been extended. If it weren't for the cap hit, Ratliff would have been cut already. Wasted cap dollars on this fool. His day is most likely long gone. Time to move on. The sooner the better.

worst extension given out in years by jerry, and thats not an easy accolade to obtain.
I truly do not understand why the extension was given out when it was, to a guy already showing signs of physical breakdown.

He could not practice one snap this entire offseason and would still be our best DT. Hatcher might give him a run this year, but people act like he's a backup.

The reality is that he practices as hard, if not harder, than anyone on the team, and the burden he had to endure while playing way too many snaps in the 34, as a small guy for the position, has taken its toll. As far as Im concerned, this guy has earned the right to milk a hamstring injury if he so chooses.

The extension was definitely a mistake, but I just can't get behind this sort of dislike for a good Cowboys player.

I'm astounded by the hate for this guy. I really am.

Even though he's older now and his body has seen some wear, I'm glad he's on our team. I would like to see him fill more of a reserve role next year. I would like to see Bass or Hayden win the other starting tackle spot next to Hatcher so Ratliff could be the third guy in the rotation. He would fill a role similar to Leon Lett -- arguably the most disruptive interior linemen who's fresh in the fourth quarter.

I would like this 2x if I could.

No he hasn't earned the right. The dude signed a 5 year 40 million dollar deal. I'm sorry but is this not enough motivation to get back on the field once you're healthy?

With good reason, I believe.

Wonder why? Nah.

Well I can't forget when this locker room was full of cancers, he was one of the few busting his butt every game and taking losing personally. He'll be back playing like a beast this year, all I can say is trust me. Feed me crow if I'm wrong but I have a very good feeling about him.

Not sure why you are astounded. We have one of the dumbest fan bases, by far.

I know when I encounter fellow fans in real life, I walk away impressed if they can string three coherent sentences together.

Agreed. I hope he is healthy this year.

He is a difference maker and our best interior DL when on the field.

Once he's healthy.

When he's healthy, he has practiced. By milk, I mean not practice when isn't 100%, not make some stuff up. And I think it would be a safe bet to say that the coaching staff/trainers have held him out of practice on purpose because they know just how valuable he is to this defense.

Don't have a problem with Rat sitting out in Oxnard, especially if the staff doesn't seem to concern about it.
Preseason game or two to get his feet wet before the season and he should be good to go (Hopefully)

I know history doesn't bode well with Rat these past couple of season but i believe he will still make an impact on the Dline this year.

Yeah because he's been a pain in our side for so long. I break it down like this...

2005--2011: Team player who over took Tank Johnson, became the best NT in the NFL, and started to taper off because of wear and tear, but still didn't miss a single game for 4 season between 2008--2011 and worked his butt off.

2012 (one measly season): was often injured, had an incredibly stupid DUI.

But what have you done for me lately, right?

That's the NFL. Ratliff got paid well for his services here. He played well for most of the time he was here. It ain't just about what have you done for me lately, it is about what are you going to do for me right now. In case you don't know, Ratliff is getting paid a lot of money this year (and last year). It is Ratliff's job to show up to camp in shape. What had he been doing the whole off-season? He pulled a hammy on the conditioning test the first day of camp. And he can't practice for over a month now. There's some veteran leadership right there, folks! Look at our warrior in the hot tub and on the sidelines with the trainer. That is one mean dude. Don't mess with him. He had to be held back from kicking the butt of a 70 year old guy last year.

No thanks. I'll take Witten. Fights to get back on the field even with a bruised spleen and broken jaw.
