Offense wasn't the issue. Defense was. Only second 1000 yard rusher since emmitt retired. Dez played great. Tony had a +21 td to interception ratio. Our problem was defense. Kiffen better go.
I don't think it is quite as clear as your saying.
You're saying that both the HC and the GM looked at Callahan's body of work this season- both of them intimately aware that his play-calling was SO bad that they had to replace him mid-season and yet they both want him back to do it again?
They BOTH want him back?
Or Jason doesn't want him back and Jerry said "Nope- you're playin' this thing out."?
Or Jerry wants him gone and Jason somehow convinced him that he likes to take over calling plays mid-season because the offense is once again broken and we know how much he likes watching his broken offense struggle...
Or Callahan never gave up calling the plays and they're both satisfied with his job enough to let it extend another season.
Which is it? 4 options- which one is going on?
I'm not saying any of this is the right way to do things and I'm not saying that I like any of the players involved in this game whatsoever.
I'm talking about the clarity of this situation. I think it's pretty opaque.
Looks like we're keeping the band together for one more tour. Oh well. Do or die season I expect.
Once again stats taking the place of the ultimate goal, The Super Bowl, it's good they are able to have such prolific stats on offense but when they needed an offensive game plan to keep leads they never have one. I know he defense was a siv so it is even more incumbent that they adjust on offense to save the defense from itself just as they at times need to protect Romo from his self. They fail at both, instead amassing great passing and offensive stats, at times to the detriment of running to control the clock. Just like Jerry they would rather look good while winning instead of just winning.
Parcell wouldn't open up the offense and these guys won't control the clock, they need someone that knows how to do both run and pass and more importantly understand when to do either or.

Take it for what it's worth.
Wasn't near that bad. 3rd in the league in points per drive. 7th best in 3 and out percentage.
I went through the drive chart for the second half of our last game against the Eagles and it wasn't too far from that. I think we had something like three runs the entire second half. As far as the stats go, before the plays started going through Garrett, our total yards and third down efficiency were down significantly from the previous year.
Nothing shocking about this. I dont know that anyone was really expecting change on this side of the ball.
How many do or die seasons before it's actually so?
So far, what has changed on the defensive side?
I do think it's clear that Garrett was calling plays the last month of the season, you could see him looking at the play sheet and then talking into his mic, even Broaddus says that he thinks Garrett called all the plays from the 2nd Giants game on.
So far, what has changed on the defensive side?
The season isn't even over. It just turned 2014.
How about you relax. You live in San Diego. Go outside and enjoy the weather.
If you only had some internet you could look it up, huh?
