Or they're yapping to each other. It wouldn't be the first time a sports writer used another as a source.

Oh c'mon.

The source in this article contradicts Lombardi as well.

You cant have "serious internal discussions'

If discussions have not begun
Clearly, at least to me, some of the powers at Valley Ranch think it would be better to let him go. So they've obviously had discussions about it... They probably just haven't run it by Jerry yet.

That's how I see it. It's serious, but of course it won't get done unless Jerry okays it.

Spencer? Someone mentioned cutting spencer also?
I assume you dont know what the purpose of the cuts are then.
It is not cutting players because they got arrested. Its cutting players that are perceived to mess up team chemistry.
How could anyone not agree to cut a player that contributes to messing up the team chemistry?
As fans we dont know how the locker room is. Can we not trust the owner, coaches ect to make the decision that certain players are team chemistry killers?

Us fans can make our decisions on who has talent, who performs ect. But how could we know if TO is a distraction to the team chemistry?

How could we know if he has divided the locker room?

I am in agreement with whatever the coaches decide for our team chemistry.

If it doesnt include, Jerry or the coaching staff it cant be "serious" See what I am saying. People with no stroke discussing it, is the same thing as people here discussing it

I'm thinking its easier to replace 4.5 sacks in 2 years than a perennial 1000 yard WR.

Actually..... I think we could accidently stumble across someone who could provide us 4.5 sacks in 2 years.

People want to cut Owens? Fine. I'm curious to see how we'd do without him. Let's try it your way.

Getting arrested and being the first Cowboy arrested in years MAY affect some chemistry :D

If, say, Jason and Steven and Wade are discussing it, I think that carries a little more weight than us doing it.

You're right. Journalists never share stories.

I'll just take this as fact even though the culprit (Werder) admits they've yet to discuss it.

This is simply a "duh, what comes next" type of article. They figure there is a good shot that it'll happen (and obviously there will at least be a discussion about it), so they jump the gun. Per the norm. ...and everyone just soaks it up.

We need all the GOOD karma we can get. Tank+Pacman+TO = a whole slew of the wrong kind IMO....If we are going to lose, I'd rather lose trying to find the "right" kind of players but that's just me.

Getting arrested during the offseason for what he did has zero bearing on team chemistry....

Please explain how it does and prove me wrong.

The source himself said the coaches arent discussing it until the coaching staff makeup is determined :)

What if the discussions are 2 assistant coaches, and a NFL scout?

Still hold the same weight?

OK in your world getting arrested no big deal, nobody cares.

What happened to the last guy to get arrested for alcohol as a Cowboy?

If that doesnt happen this time think anyone may be upset at a double standard?

Think some players will be ok if nothing happens to Spencer?

Isn't it much more likely that the same VR source is leaking to both Werder and Lombardi? Or maybe you think it's a coincidence that they reported the same thing on the same day. Not every negative nugget about the Cowboys is the product of a "media conspiracy."

Not to mention that the competition among Insider reporters is fierce.

If Jay Glazer gets something that Ed Werder doesn't get or Adam Schefler (spelling?) doesn't get, you can rest assure their bosses are saying, "Why don't you have this?" That's why they're insiders/investigative reporters paid to have sources, and deep sources, and know what's going on. That's why they spend their days on the phone.

It would be foolish for them to quote Glazer without attribution. If they can't verify it on their own, they're not going to use it, or they're going to attribute it to a particular source.

Some people really don't understand how journalism works. But what do you expect when you get your understanding from the Internet.

P.S. For those who don't know, reporters don't generally write headlines. And, yes, even reporters get pissed that a headline writer misreads the story and applies an inappropriate/inaccurate headline. It has happened to me, then again, the many times a copy editor has saved my behind from a misspelling or a factual error with a date or place more than makes up for the erroneous headline.

He is the only one on the list to be arrested as a Dallas Cowboy

That's hardly the point. You know exactly what the conversation is about. Spencer isn't an issue that I know of on this board. If an insider on the board knows something they have kept it quiet here.
